A quick question, non hand specific as I like ...
On what occasions (if any) would you use the re-re-raise if you didn't want to get all in?

The pre flop re-re-raise

This only applies to more deepstack poker in tournaments, with M's of at least 36-60.
For instance
EX 1:
Initial raiser (IR) = 3bb
Player 2 RR to 9 bb
IR RR to 27 bb
If I have an M of 36 (54 bb), I could make the 3rd RR by putting in 1/2 of my stack (I'm assuming this is the minimum stack size to make this move).
EX: 2
Initial raiser (IR) = 5bb
Player 2 RR to 15 bb
IR RR to 45 bb
So if the 45 bb represents a maximum of 1/2 my stack (meaning my remaining stack is 45 bb or greater), I need a minimum stack of 90 bb or an M of 60 (no antes).Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

There's the case in cash games where I didn't make the first raise where I won't push which is rare.
i.e.
1/2 blinds
UTG raises to $4
MP raises to $8
I'll raise to $25 on the button
This is a rarity for me in a deep stack tourney, too, but I can't remember the last time I did it without moving all in.

i cant remember when i ever have in a tournament
i play in what can get to be a very deep stacked cash game ($100 max 1/2 nl, if you play all night you get $1000+ stacks, the game is juicy)
i know i have seen it go like $12, $30, then i make it $100 or w/e but even then it basically telegraphs i have AA or KK

The $100 looks too legit. That's why I like the push. We've joked about the quick use of the slider online. But a quick all in declaration after seeing your cards and a bad estimate of your stack will usually goad a guy in. Nothing wrong with being blatant afterwards and alternating your focus between his face and his chips. You're sending mixed messages to a man with a strong hand and you'll get called by AK, QQ, and JJ- maybe even AQ, AJ, KQ and Tens, if you're lucky and someone wants to look like a genius. With Kings, you'll get called by Aces sometimes, but it's 22:1 that someone at your table has Aces. I've never folded Kings PF in a cash game.

I'm thinking M's of >100 this may come into play... Especially if you know the opponent. And if you two were THE big stacks, and both of you realize that somebody is walking away hurt bad from this hand... If you are using it as a language between you two. But those situations are so rare, that beav's answer is probably best.
As bob's sig said, the third raise means they can't find the all-in button.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
