Why would you wait for the river to bet half the pot?
what do you do when you hit top 2 pair on a 10 person game then? i went all in again and lost it

Well dont go all-in.

Never go all-in, At least i try not too.

Play the pot, not your stack. If you want to overbet with top2, then make a 1.5x pot size bet. This does one of 2 things. First, it shows your serious and you intend on playing this pot. If they call, you are usually ahead. Secondly, it can give you an out. This out is folding to the all-in reraise which you are forcing them to make if they want to reraise here. Depends on what you think they'd push with though.

Personally on flops with top2 that I need to protect like this, I'll make a 80%-100% pot size bet here. More wiggle room.

As much as Rounders quotes are despised, there are some pretty good and applicable ones. I think this is one of them "Always leave yourself an out."

Marm, what percentage of the time would you actually be beaten by an al-in reraise though, I have found most times that is an overpair or TPGK.

The table would have to be really tight for me to fold two pair on the flop.

I agree beav, but by not overbetting, you still leave yourself the option to release if you so choose. Short of some really good info on a player, I'm probably calling anyways.

Yeah, even TJ and Tom say they will usually get all-in with two-pair if they have too. Especially bottom too pair since it is vulnerable.

Well, it's not that it was tough to overcome. KK only has 8 outs. It's just that there was nothing he could really to do. The guy with KK was gonna stay in the whole way.
