Blinds 1K/2K, ante 50. You have 7500 chips. Player directly on your right has the same. You are in the button. It gets folded around, player on your right pushes all in.

Call?
I think so, simply because you are so short, and you probably aren't that big a dog to whatever the other guy is pushing with, and could well be a favorite.

A suited T8 is a coinflip to K-crap, A-crap . . . . etc. . . . .
Against a totally random hand, you've got to be a favorite, so I'd call.Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

Really you guys are calling this?
Pokerstove puts us at a 52/47 favorite against a completely random hand. Against an Ac 2s it's 52/47 against. Kc Ts (just threw 2 broadway cards in) we're a 68/31 dog. If he has one 1 diamond in his hand higher than ours (which is why I was using the club spade thing) were a slight dog also (52/47 deal)
So basically we're a favorite to a completely random hand but wouldn't we at least figure it to at least 1 (Ax, Kx) if not 2 high cards?Last edited by Pok 7's; 07-13-2006 at 08:51 PM.

Besides, there's 10500 in the pot and it's 7500 to call . . . that's 1.4:1. So unless we're up against A9/K9 or better, we're getting our odds to call.
And sometimes, you just have to get lucky in order to stay in the game . . .Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?

Note that this hand you "just threw in" dominates us . . . . Run this against a hand like QJ/KJ/AJ and you'll find we're better than 3:2 . . .

I just did the numbers are still 68/31 again that's without one of his hole cards suits matching ours. I can agree we need to get lucky and maybe I'm wrong, I just didn't think this was an insta call situation.

1.) Your opponent has 3.5bbs so the guy's open-pushing with any 2. That would mean that you're up against a completely random hand.

Nobody considering the blinds?
The BB is getting 3:1 odds here to call. If he has ANY hand it's a must call for him.
