Before I tell you my opinion and strategy for party poker real money tournies, I must advise you that this is only an opinion, it does not mean this is the
"right" way to play poker nor do I think there is a "right" way to play poker.

I have been playing poker for a good 3 years now, watching it on TV as much as I can, and playing real life cash games and tournaments. I tried my hardest to stay away from partypoker one day I figured Id give it a try. After a year or so of playing I must honestly say this... people do not and can not "cheat" at online poker, based on the fact that they cannot breach serverside information (but hey ill stay away from the nerdy stuff), but I believe system tests your tightness at many points.

For example :
When I have lost a big hand, due to a person with an overpair, or catching two pair on the river, the very next hand I always seem to get a medium pocket pair. Now, I consider 10s to be a medium pocket pair because how many times have any of you had 10s and a face card or two or 3 show up on the flop after you raise. This is what I mean by testing you. I have come to realize that this is vital to fold and keep your money. (this is real money mind you). I have been in this situation many times, folded that hand, and gone on to double up on a bigger hand such as Ks or As.

Again, I am not telling anyone what a good hand or what a bad hand is. One could say a bad hand is 10-2, but one could say a pro won two years in a row with it.

Another thing to look for is that, AK is a decent and i mean DECENT hand preflop in my opinion. All it is is a drawing hand and most people consider it aces. Keep in mind when 5 people are in a raising situation, most likely 1 - 2 of your aces are gone. Also, if you manage to see a flop with the hand, dont be afraid to fold the hand if you completely miss the flop. Also, the game changes drastically when it becomes headsup. That is when you can loosen your game up a little (this is obvious).

Anyway, I am about to leave work but these are my little ideas and / or strategies that have helped me along the way. Let me know what you think.
