    Default General Turbo MTT Strategy

How the hell do you guys play these things? Has anyone has some sort of consistent success with these on any level? (I think Beavis finished 3rd in one about a week ago?) I have a friend that plays Turbo SnG's all-in or fold and kills at them.

I suck at them, but Beavis mentioned them being juicy and I always see that they get great fields. Even if have success in the MT-SnG's with the 100+ fields or have success in local tournaments with sub-par structures, I'm interested to hear your thoughts on those. Those are pretty relatable, I'd think?

hmm.. well if u dl that show High Stakes Poker, off of www.mininova.org the version they have there has this video clip before the show starts where it shows a strategy to beating low buyin ($6 and $15) turbo sngs using an all in or fold strategy using that program "texas calculatem" to decide ur action.

he says u can make anywhere from 200-1000 a week from it if ur willing to put in the hours.

If you're familiar with Kill Phil strategy, I think this is likely to be the best. My experience is that it's push/fold poker.

I used to play them just for fun ($1 and $6 on Party - now the $1 is no more . . ) But my strategy since has been not to play them . . . . maybe I'm missing out.

    Would like to hear other's experiences . . .
Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
    Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

Beavis does quite well in these....

I try to play loose and cheap early, never commiting chips without a hand though, and it soon becomes push/fold. It's really the only venue where playing survival poker in the mid stages is a good idea.

    this clip has it
    http://www.mininova.org/tor/264881

also all the other episodes have it as well.. as long as u dl the ones with
    2006 before the name.

so "2006 High Stakes Poker".. as long as the name starts like that it has the video clip

so basically 2006 High Stakes Poker S1EP1 thru to EP12 all have it.

i got 3rd in one a couple weeks ago with a 150 or so field. i didn't play push or fold really, but there was definately a lot of that going on. the players were pretty passive to what the would go in with, and i got a couple suckouts, too, which helped.

    it was a weird game.

I play like my stack is only about 75% or so of what it really is since the blinds go up faster.

try to build a big stack early to make it to the money, then I try to feed off the short stacks and steal blinds.

I was playing these every night last year and "crushing" them. I think I had a 30% ITM over 100 or so and about 10 final tables. One win and two seconds I think.

UB got rid of my favorite ones though so i havent been playing as much.

it is about finding the right place to go allin, even if it is a -EV is some situations - because you may then get forced to get all in as an even bigger dog with less reward.

like marm said, early, just play a regular game and hope to stack some of the fish.

Totally forgot about my little thesis I wrote a while back... this reminded me. Views on EV plays in fast paced MTT's
