Was this bluff a good idea or just stupid and I got very lucky.
The reason I raised in the first place was to mix up my play and maybe take a stab at the pot later if it seemed possible, which to me it did. It is not something I always do, just occasionally. I fear I'm going to get torn apart for it, but I'm ok with that![]()
I'll post my thoughts of what was going on after some people have ripped in to me, or praised my genius![]()

I see nothing wrong with it. YOu raised in EP, what you raised with is not KILLER, but it is a nice speculative hand. You are repersenting anything from about AA-99 (?) and AK. When the Q hits your opponent gives you credit for it. I am not real big on no limit, but I think some of the betting theory is the same. You opened for 3bb raise, which is the "average" raise for a good pocket pair (from what I have read on here).
The only problem I have here, is why not raise on the flop? You have a OESD. In most situtaions, say the Q doesn't fall and it is something lower (that doesn't complete your OESD). Now your opponent is more likely to check here, human nature will often check to a raiser. Now you can either A.) Bluff or B.) Check and hope you hit your 8 + outer (I'm not real sure if spiking a pair would actually win you the hand.)
As for A, I really think the fold is due to card and the respect as to what you are repersenting.
I am really just nitpicking, I was only thinking if the "scare" card didn't fall.TTinthehole (1:11:07 AM): i was gonna raise after littlemissvic limped

what you did, (and i dont think you were trying to do this) is called a freeze play.
how it should look, is that somebody in EP or MP (or, in earlier position than you happen to be in) makes a pf raise with a pretty decent range (this doesnt work on a rock)
the flop comes pretty dry and they bet a reasonable ammount, and you think that its just a CB. a raise from you is probably a dead giveaway you have air on such a dry board, so you just call the raise, and bet when they check the turn. works better when you have a nice draw for backup.
in your play, sure, you made the raise, he made what was probably a probe bet, but you stole the pot when he checked.
nice play, i dont mind it at all

Looks like he tried to steal the pot on the flop betting into what he thought was 2 overs. You call, the Q hits the board, and he decides to give the effort up when you bet at him.
As for the PF raise, I raise them as well (in fact, at this point in the tourney, I'm not looking to limp at all). You'll take down the blinds a good % of the time, and when you flop a big hand it will be a well concealed monster. . . .Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

However, i will also raise the flop. He open with a probe bet on a trash flop Looks like a semi steal IMO. His bet screams: '' C'mon, let me see the next card cheaply with my 2 overs! Or you can also give up right now...''
I like to throw in a solid raise behind that kind of play. Especialy If I hit the flop pretty well like you did.
That said, Good play...
