Do you think the raise was good? It turned out he had AA. I thought his bet could be a c-bet (AKo), what do you guys think?
Also, what do you think about the call preflop

Good or bad raise postflop?

I would not make that call preflop in that stage and in that position.
Postflop, it's too early for you to have had any reads that the guy raised really often and was very unlikely to have a high PP or had the flop hit him. That's the only way I consider that play. If he had been throwing chips around thinking it was giving him "control of the table"."They swore they wanted character guys, but then they signed a DUI guy and a guy sleeping with a reporter and that's fine, but I got character issues?"

Id want more money and limpers in front of me to play 44, Im playing it purely for set value so I fold on the flop here.

I don't see much wrong calling PF, it is early in the tourney (this is a MTT right?) you have excellent implied odds to hit your set.
Post flop you got really frisky, (this is where Jason's famous push really fast move would have worked really well for your opponent
, it would be really hard not to call an immediate all in push with just about any pocket pair here). Okay, you put him on a couple of big cards, fair enough, you tried a risky move and your opponent put you in your place you have to fold. You'll still have about 1000 chips so you aren't done.

I dont know squat all about tourney play, but if its similar to the cash games then i would fold this, he could easily have a higher PP or even the 7.
In my opinion especially with him re-raising its an easy fold.

Calling PF is the obvious play . . . great implied odds.
One thing for folks to remember is that the Gap concept also relates to implied odds:
The earlier in position a PF raiser is, the stronger his hand likely is, the less likely he can get away from it on the flop, the greater your actual implied odds.
Of course, for that same reason I'm pretty sure I wouldn't raise this flop . . . . but after you do (trying to knock AK/AQ/AJ out) and get reraised, it's time to fold.Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

Good point Jason...but doesn't that also mean a later position is more likely to have a part of the flop (decreasing chances of winning it right there)?

It could be DaFish. You are asking this question because later position probably means a wider range of hands right? But if they know their basics, it takes a better hand to call a raise with than it does to make the raise.
