    Default cheating.....

ive played poker for about 2 years now and ive lost a good amount over my first year before i started winning anything. well reccently i found out ppl have been signaling each other.. and these ppl are some of my friends.. i would even show them my hand at times when they have folded and they would signal their "partner." cheating has gotten very common around here.. since we play almost daily now that its summer. everyone is working together and they think i cant see it but i can.. signaling and such. well i dont wanna cheat myself so i came up with this plan with a friend of mine... so we figured were gonna set up a camcorder to tape the whole game.. and using that we could memorize others signaling and use it to our advantage. i dunno if im gettin too far into this. i mean is it worth a try? its not cheating in any way.. and i dont think its an immoral thing to do eitehr.. i just want to get certain ppl back for cheating me

Aside form the fact these are "friends", why bother continuing to play with the same people if you know they're cheating?

it all depend of the amounts of $$$ on the table...

If we are talking about low buy ins... just leave that game. If we are talking about thousands of $$$, I would give them the fear of their life... and then, quit to play with them.

I hate cheaters... especialy dumb ones who think they are so smart!!!!

First thing that comes to mind is that "friends" don't cheat friends! If these guys are cheating you, they are NOT your friends - you're their patsy!

Second thing that comes to mind is why in the world would you show your cards to people you suspect of cheating? If they have a need to know what you have they should have to pay the price of admission to the showdown!! Generally speaking you should never show your cards but if you suspect cheaters then it would be absolutely never unless its at showdown!

Third thing that comes to mind is - what signals could they be sending? If your playing holdem, then only the hole cards consitute incomplete information - is this the info they are sharing? I'd be curious to know how they would do that without complicated signals that would be obvious at a table! Or are they co-ordinating betting strategy - i.e raise, call or fold?

Lastly - find another game! These "friends" simply aren't worth your company or your buy-in!

I have no moral objections to cheating cheaters by stealing their signals so you always know what they're playing . . . .

That being said, I'd listen to the commentary above. These are not your friends, they're taking advantage of you.

Frankly, I'd confront my "friends" if they were doing this and tell them to go fuck themselves . . . but that's just me.
Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
    Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

I love the idea of using their cheating against them, If they are signaling the strength of their hand to each other then you can easily use it to take back your money, once you feel you've had enough back from them, then you tell them to go fuck themselves!
Bad Beat of the week 27/08/2006:

    Flop - :jc :3s :6d I raise 2/3 pot, Villian calls.

well i showed them my hands back in the days before i knew about the cheating... and we did it quite often. one would fold and look over to the person next to them and be like "wat are u holding?" we showed each other so i never suspected anything. and yea i know they arent great friends but w/e... shit that happens on the poker table stays on the poker table. as for the cheating.. we usually deal out all the cards face down.. so the turn and river cards are already face down on the table. they would take a look at it after they have folded and signal their partner... as in biting their nails, scrathing their head.. or even some as obvious as scratching their ear with a certain finger... ive noticed it all. youre right about the showing cards thing.. i dont do it anymore... but i think i will show certain ppl to get their signals down.. it could be worth it.

me and my friends would cheat all the time. however, we didnt keep it a secret ie: if your not cheating, its your own fault. we'd get drunk and play 5$ buy in cash games w/ .25 bb and no sb.

rarely would we cheat post flop. it was mostley "ah my cards suck... redeal", or switching cards w/ buddy. one time I satcked the deck (took my about 3 minutes, but the dumbasses didnt notice), and gave AA,KK,QQ,JJ to 4 players, gave AT to another player, and made the flop go KQJ. that was funny. they all slowplayed eachother till river.

all this ^^ was fun stuff. what you are part of sounds like they are trying to screw you. personally id quit the game. gl taping the signals though, i like the iddea.
I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.
