Default And then i cried...but the poker gods answeared

    Hey

Ok last post from tonight.... well what happened here...i checkraised as this guy was on teh button and i had a feeling he would bet and i thought these 3 would fold to even say a 12 cent bet without much in the pot....and im sick and tired of getting only crappy amounts from my good hands..i know check raising has less value in NLH but i thought here it helped me a fair bit?

Not much to say here. I always like my odds of filling up when I flop a set. I'm sure thats pretty bad poker, but thats been my observation.

I bet the flop...you took it good from there. It's not GUARANTEED that he'll lead out but with that board, most will. You might've gotten all the money in earlier than the river with a smooth call but you got what you wanted in the end, nice job.

    Hey

Thanks...to be honest i can see what people mean when they say get the cash out earlier in tourneys and stuff where ther blinds are large in relation to the stack size...but in 1c/2c i dont think its worth it...as pots can go $10+ but generally over $2 if you and someone else catch a good hand....i mean blind stealing whenever you get a good hand wont keep your head above water...will it?

(On re-read i thought i should point out-thats an actual question in not being sarcastic)

    Thanks

I just noticed the 3 flush on the board too...I like the check on the flop now but only if you plan to smooth call (I'm not a fan of the reraise, people love to play any suited connectors) and not raising still lets you get rid of the hand. You got what you wanted on the river but that's where the raising war should've came.

The reraise is what tells you he doesn't have the flush. That was the best play available. When your reraise is just called its a dead giveaway. If I have the flush here I'm pushing every time.

The smooth call would have been the worst because you would have no idea where you stood and would be donking more chips on the turn if you were beat.

But if you notice villain got all-in on the turn. He probably hit his flush but it was likely Q or J high and maybe though tom was chasing the nut flush. He saw the 4th flush card didn't come, and proceeded to get his money in then.

I'm smooth calling this flop and not calling more than $0.20 on the turn and $0.30 on the river. Without a flush, people are trying to get value for what they did pick up without getting in trouble. With a flush, they want you to bet it for them. No way you pick up anything on the flop. You're not getting raised by a flush. You pick up the read in this case on the turn.
