What's the buy in? If it's a substantial buy in ($22+), then I likely fold.
If it's less than that ($11 or $6), then I push. At the higher levels, min raises like this might actually mean something . . . at the $11 and $6 levels (particularly at a full table) some morons just push the "raise" button when they think they have a good hand without even considering the amount.
I've seen a whole table at the $6 level min raise after min raise at the lowest blinds . . . finally after about 10 min raises, I said "This isn't limit, if everyone wants to go all in just do it and get it over with." So 5 or 6 players go all in with an assortment of real junk hands . . . ug.Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

i go allin here... you are shortstacked and really have a good chance at stealing the pot
the limpers dont have a hand worth calling or else they would have raised
villain probably has a hand like a pocket pair or something that wants a reletively cheap flop that will pay off big if it hits... probably wont call...
you have T1000... pot is 550... the limpers need to call 900 to win 1550... not even 1.6-1 odds off the top of my head... easy fold for most hands...
villain calls 800 to win 1550... almost exactly 2-1...may or may not get called... but there is plenty of FE in it...
you win and youre at 2350... good position again in the sng... you get folded to and youre still at 1550... almost as good as a double up... you lose meh who cares it was the beginning of a SnG anyways

Well, how much does villian cover us by? If I can really do some damage to villian, and given it's a speed touranment, I can't fault pushing here.
What really makes the difference is having a read. One reason I don't play these speed tourneys is that they're more like playing the slot machines than any strategic form of poker . . . good players just don't have much of an edge.
All in all, if this table is so loose I can't effectively steal, I have no choice but to push this hand. If the table is generally tight and I can pick up blinds, then I probably just fold . .. . . . though calling isn't the worst play in the world either . . .Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

you have to dump it here. min raise is AQ, KQ or a pair. you are only beating one of them and arent getting very good odds.
