I would have probably folded the flop. If you don't hit your set, have a lot of players, and there is an A or a K...you are probably behind, and only have two outs to win.

Depends on the table, I'd have probably called preflop and hoped for a set with the implied odds of multiple callers and when it didn't hit (and definately with an Ace and a flush draw on the flop) folded.

Unlikely that everyone was going to fold to your preflop reraise and there's not many flops that would leave you entirely comfortable.

But I only play either very cheap flops with good position or premium hands in tournaments until (and if) I get a big stack

you can't suck too badly, you had the big stack at the table and were the only one with a made hand in the side pot.

This is a good hand but can get you in trouble in NL as you saw

Against a lot of opponents, keep in mind that you're going to need to improve most of the time to win the hand. You can call a small raise in these situations, but when it's re-raised, it's usually time to go. Instead, you put in a pretty good re-raise. Unless you're pretty sure you can steal the pot here, this isn't a good move. Considering the way they played this hand, this is a very loose table and you don't want to be fooling around with moves like this.

So - you called the 2x raise which is fine. There's a re-raise and a further re-raise after that. Instead of re-raising again, you shoudl throw this hand away.

On the flop, with that many people in the pot with that many raises and an ace showing, you can bet the farm you're beat here. To make it worse, 2 people are all-in with this flop by the time it comes to you. Calling this isn't a particularly good idea

So you end up with the 4th worst hand at showdown. What you need to do is to slow down there partner and not play your cards so aggressively. Focus more on what your opponents may have, and only get in pots when you believe you are the fav or fairly sure you can take it down.

    Good luck

Yeah, but that's exactly my problem. I always get carried away when I have chip leads like this.
