    Default Playing the paired flop

I have read so many times that first bet on the paired flop wins the pot.

However .. I have also read many accounts of hands in major tournaments where players hold back on the paired flop, waiting for the turn to make their move.

In many of these cases you are either way ahead or way behind ..

I'd be interested to know how players approach the paired flop ..

If I raised PF and and am leading out on a paired board (FTA or checked around) I ALWAYS bet. With either two overs or now 2 pair I have to assume I'm head unless it comes TTx+. If I raised and got called by, say, two people and the flop comes QQx, there's no way I'm betting because it's too likey someone caught it. If the flop comes 22x-99x, I'll fire a 3/4 - pot sized bet.

If I get called I hope to improve on the turn and see another safe cared and double barrell my c-bet, or shut down to check/fold. If I get raised, depending on read, I call or fold.

This is truly an "it depends" scenario. On the preflop action, which card is paired. Chip stacks. What you know about your opponent(s). So much more. Everything, basically.
