and looking back, results aside, I'm pretty (actually very) sure I was stupid for making it.
justification: guy had been betting the pot on every flop that was checked to him, and wasn't mucking his hands, even when they were shit. (most of the time)
still, i don't think this was a great call, not just because of the amount, but the action beforehand.
the preflop raise was just a steal attempt and the fact that he called it should have put me off the hand even more after the all-in by him. he easily could have had 22 or even TT (though I think he maybe reraises in that spot) i had 2 pair when i called it, and got really lucky i wasn't up against a set, which was very likely.
do you guys make this call?
if i had to do it again, i say no way. it was a lapse in judgement and i got really lucky i think.
anyway, here it is: (doing a PSO thing with Pokershare, and can't find a converter, so I have to make my own little HH conversion)
--------------------------
Pokershare No-Limit Hold'em, $50NL (5 handed)
Hero ($62.60)
SB ($71.05)
BB ($39.70)
UTG ($44.65)
CO ($136.75)
Preflop: Hero with,
.
2 folds, Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, BB calls $1.75.
Flop:,
,
(2 players)
BB bets $1.50, Hero raises to $5, BB re-raises all-in to $36.20, Hero calls $31.20.
Turn:(2 players, 1 all-in)
River:(2 players, 1 all-in)
Final Pot: $76.90
Results in white below:

5 handed, I'll might make this call at times. You can get your money back so fast in shorthanded play and you've showed down a strong hand if you're up against deuces. I wouldn't recommend a call because it is dangerous. People move in so much shorthand with TPTK, bottom two, and any pair against the PF raiser "putting them on" AK.

right, that was something that i was really thinking about. something like AQ is a definate possibility with the preflop call and the push with TPTK. still, i think i got really lucky there was no set.

I LIKE YOUR PLAY!
With a read on this player as being a bit over aggressive (at least that's what I read from your comments)...I would have made this call with top two pair. He could have moved in with AQ, an over pair or a multitude of other hands that you have beat...you only have a couple hands to worry about. I would make this call against an aggressive player nearly 100% of the time....and only occasionally will I lose a stack to a set.

I don't play a lot of hands....I just play a lot of them poorly.

I would have definitely made this call, especially with your read. I think you made the right decision, if he was that agressive he probably would have reraised you preflop with QQ/TT, plus the fact that you have QT, makes it even less likely that he hit a set of Qs or Ts, you really only have to worry about a set of 2s.

yeah depending on how aggressive and what kind of hands he's aggressive with i'd also call.. i mean against that sort of player im sure the odds are more he just has pair than hit set right?
although prehaps not to warrant such agression

QQ and TT are both unlikely as you said he was very aggressive and would probably have re-raised pre-flop with them. 22 is the only real worry.
I'm never sure about these oversized all-in raises. Usually they just make me think they are wanting to win the hand there and then and that to me means they have a marginal or weak hand. Tough call but one I think is worth making if the guy is overly aggressive as in this case.Bad Beat of the week 27/08/2006:
:kh :jd
Flop - :jc :3s :6d I raise 2/3 pot, Villian calls.

With your read, definately call this. Especially shorthanded.
I would only fold this against a super tight player. But even then I probably call this with the two diamonds. You got top two pair damnit.
