You've gotta lead for about 120 on the flop, no question. If you get raised, you have 12 outs.
This one's up to you. I'll take risks to build a large stack at times and at others, I'll be more cautious and conservative with my draws. I don't think I can fault you calling or folding.

I may have forgot to say button was really agressive and was betting almost all the flops... to be honest, I think he bet all flops when it was checked to him... not a big sample of course, but I was 90% sure he would bet that one.

Same rationale applies because a lot of your chips are gonna be at risk. I make money because people think that the poker gods frown on aggressive players and we never get Aces or hit sets. You're using the same 3 board cards that he is.
You can't win the tourney here. If you're willing to play this out, check-raise all in for top value on your coin flip. If you're gonna be cautious, call the 100 and play the turn and river as the cards fall. I prefer to be more straight-forward early and I think you dancing too much in this hand.

I'm betting the flop here for a couple of reasons, you dont want someone else to take control, and if you bet out 2-300 here, it may look like a steal and someone may come over the top. I don't think you can put your opp on Axh, maybe the dry Ah but your still looking good. You flopped top pair with a good kicker, you have the second nut flush draw so the only hands you really need to worry about are Axh, AK, KQ, 55 or 77... My guess one flopped a set, the other's got the dry Ah... Blinds are 10/20 and if this is a $5 SNG, I call and if I miss I go on, if I hit I can cruise. If it's a rebuy in the first 5 minutes, no brainer. If it's the Sunday $215 on 'Stars, I'm seriously thinking before calling and may, just may lay it down.. Depends on the first few hands I've seen the guys play. I don't think your far behind if you are, and you have a ton of outs if you are..

Well its neither a 5$ SNG either a 215$ buy in...

3400 from them in the pot, 460 from you
pot total is 3860 1240 for you to call.
That is 3.1:1. I call.Last edited by Beavis68; 06-20-2006 at 01:58 PM.

That certainly complicates things.... Given the fact that the button was very aggressive, he may be trying to buy the pot...... Like I said, I think small chance may be slightly behind on the flop, good chance your ahead with chances to improve.... I'm probably calling the 2 AI looking to triple up with those odds...

I don't dislike your check on the flop ... I do this often myself with top pair and the flush draw. It gives you the oportunity to make lots of moves, it also gets your opponent to bet big to get you off the flush draw (which is what you want if you want to gamble).
