Tried to convert this but didn't work ...
Just after the break I was sitting in approx 40th with 200 or so left in the tourney ...
The players to my left had been playing fairly tight, I hadn't noticed anything special about them.

Same here... if you raise PF, please do it for real....
i bet the pot on the flop... you are up agianst 2 opponents, you have to protect it vs the str8... especialy considering you could be vs anything because of your pf min-raise...
edit.. push flop... pot is too big vs stacks size to be cute here...

More of the same....
I agree with Beavis. Just push it allin since this board could be really bad news. You want to take down this pot right now. Your weak PF raise could have allowed a QT to see this flop cheap and already have you beat.
The set of 9s in nice, but a Q, T or 7 could really ruin your day.CORYAN
I don't play a lot of hands....I just play a lot of them poorly.

I know looking back at this I realise the raise pre flop was weak. Should have just called or added another BB to the raise.

It's a consideration, but 99 is good against a lot of hands that you might see pushed in at this point. And you do have a nice stack to fight back with.

With 6 folds to you and you now being the 1st to enter the pot you have to be aware of your positiion and that you are now in a short-handed game (only 4 counting you).

With only 4 after the 6 folds, your 99 is a powerful hand in a short-handed game - don't be afraid to play it as such! 99 has 7 other pocket pairs beat so you have 60% of possible pairs beat. Most times you'll be in a coin toss with a slight advantage.
I also agree with the others on the flop - all-in and hope that str8 doesn't improve for anyone calling!Last edited by Aces-o-8s; 06-19-2006 at 07:50 PM.
