    Default SSNL #2

Again, ignore results (actually maybe not in this case...) but I'm still trying to learn how not to play past the flop......

    Converter

    Stack sizes:

    MP2: $14.30
    CO: $47.15
    Button: $59.61
    SB: $22.66
    Hero: $10

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is BB with
    2 folds, MP1 raises to $0.75, 4 folds, Hero calls $0.5 (pot was $1.1).

    Flop: ($1.6, 2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets $1.25, Hero calls $1.25 (pot was $2.85).

    Turn: ($4.1, 2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets $1.5, Hero calls $1.5 (pot was $5.6).

    Hero checks, MP1 bets $2, Hero raises all-in $6.5, MP1 folds.
Uncalled bets: $4.5 returned to Hero.

    Results:

im cring that flop, if he has TT+ i want his money in now.
if he has AK/AQ/AJ i dont want to give him a free card to outdraw me.

I don't mind the call on the flop. The turn showed you that he's not gonna up the price to play, so you have to raise to $4. You're letting him dictate the size of the pot and he's not going anywhere.

Online with Alex's thoughts plus the turn gives a flush draw so I would make my move here on the Turn rather than get sucked out by an improbable on the river.

I'm no cash game player, but in a tournament I'd definitely raise the flop . . .

I'm not scared that he's going to outdraw me with an Ax . . . he's only got 4 outs to do so.

But I'd really like to inflate the pot on the flop so that the turn and river can pay off bigger. It also gives him a chance to get into a raising war with you if he's got an overpair.

If he calls or raises, then you can 1/2 pot it on the turn . . . it's tough for him not to keep calling these bets if he's got a hand like AK/AQ/AJ/AT . . . he'll think he's got 10 outs, when he's really only drawing to 4.

If he raised with 56 or A5 . . . well shit, life's a bitch sometimes. Gotta pay that off with top set.
Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
    Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

no, because it is good, limping and calling a small raise is fine with that stack,

the pf play was good, you have implied odds here for teh set, given you and villians stack size relative to the raise

I have to say pre-flop isn't great. Effective stacks are less than half a buyin and you will not get it all in there everytime you flop a set. It's probably fine though considering the discounted price.

Raise the flop. If he's got a middle pocket pair we don't want him to slow down when overs come on the later streets and we don't want him nailing the straight with the ace.
