Default Am i too tight ?

After a 3 hour tourney today, i lost going all in with jj vs 99.

got jack on the flop but ended up losing to a staight.

While I was replaying the tourney in my head, i decided to check my stats.

I played only 13% of my hands during this tourney.... Is this too tight ?

Thanks in advance.

it depends on your chip stack, and how weak and loose the table is. You can open up quite a bit with a good stack and a weak table, but if there are few limpers or a lot of PF raising, or you have a stack under 20bb, you have to be tight pre-flop. I find that I am usually about 18% and this includes playing some suited junk in late position.

Worst thing to do is play crap up front and get caught in a pot, or have to dump the hand.

A better question maybe: "am I aggressive enough with the hands I play"

This was only a 1 dollar tourney, but suprisingly most of my tables were uber tight.

My best finish to date in any tourney is 28th, but i feel im getting better....

If the tables are "uber tight" you are playing WAY to tight.

Whats your VPIP

You're not look ing a t abigger picture here. 13% so what? Maybe JJ was the best hand you saw all day. Then 13% is fine!. But maybe you were pitching AQo to minimum raises, thats too tight! Maybe!

You coulda jsut had a really crap run of cards that dictated the number of hands you play. I've had 8 hour live session where I did not recieve one preium hand all night!.
