Default Thanks for the nail-bitting conclusion!

My thoughts:

PF: I can understand the PF reraise to isolate with this pair. 99 never plays well against a crowd. But I would use the strong position it gave me at some point later in the hand.

Flop: I would have bet out on the flop...particularly given your knowledge that your opponent would CR if he had the ace. Make a smallish bet to get a read on his hand. If he CRs, we drop the hand (The problem with not betting is...what if he leads out on the turn? He could have the ace, but could equally have any other pair. If he bets the turn after we check in position, we are really lost in this hand.

Turn: He doesn't bet (thank the poker gods). I agree with your read that he probably doesn't have the ace here. But I am not sure how you make any other read on this guy. Have you played with him in tournaments before? This hand has given so little information, it is nearly impossible to know what he has. I want to take this hand right now and not try to extract more chips on the river.

River: Of course you make this call.

Congrats on making his smaller pair pay up. I would have played it differently, but that's poker.

I wasn't in any rush. It was a great table to extract chips and this was way too early for me to get committed to a big pot.

You're missing the fact that losing this pot is insignificant if I don't invest any more chips in the loss. This wasn't poker gods. He a type. This is how people who want to be tricky but aren't, play lo pairs with people behind them. Check. Check. Bet.

Like I said, not poker gods. Not tricky. Cliche. Maybe he was reading a poker book at the same time as playing. I had played with the guy for about 45 minutes and saw how he was going about taking pots. This was the first pot that we played together. But it was hard to not notice his play because he was in so many pots and playing them all exactly the same.

Check. Raise.
Bet.
Bet.

or

Check.
Check.
Bet.

I don't think I saw this guy check one river in the hour that we played together.

time doesnt matter, your strategy should be determined by chipstacks and payouts.

Why did you post this? if it was just to tell eveyone how great you played and not take any feedback, why not put it in glory corner, or put in all those details upfront if you think people could learn from it?

Too me this hand shows a serious flaw in your MTT game and they way you approach them.

It isnt lilke I am an MTT master or anything, but I see a few flaws in your midset maybe my head is up my ass, but maybe not.

If you had made this play with a bigger stack, I could understand it, but putting in 1/4 of your stack is too much for this fancy play. I do stuff like this all the time with stacks between 100-60bbs or so.

Actually, I was just genuinely curious as to what people would say. That ever enter your ass to reach your head?

Wow, Beavis. I actually thought criticsm would come in more than a one liner for once, but... no.

You're giving a shitload of what's and not a lot of how's and why's, but thanks. I'll note that.

What the hell do you think I meant by saying that it's still early? I bust now, I get 250% of my buy in with a huge field. Playing all in poker is fuckin' retarded with 15-25bbs in your stack this early for potentially 2 hours. Yeah. That'll work.

That's why it only took two and a half hours to drop 1150 people.
