Default What could I have done differently?

Besides fold...Just unlucky, or bad call? Would anyone assume he had 8To? Or should I have assumed flush? Just bad play on my part, I guess. Please discuss.

Well, he was either trying to represent the flush that hit on the turn, or putting you on drawing to the same and trying to price you out of drawing to protect his straight... His call of your flop bet means he obviously has something and I probably would have bet the same $2 on the turn and if he came over the top I think this is an easy fold.

I think you were also overplaying your pair of 'hooks and just plain got trapped by a better hand.... CO's big stack would also tend to lead me to proceed with caution because he obviously knows how to accumulate chips...

    Default hi

imho, you made a good play in the earlier rounds(from what i know) you had what seemed to the probable nuts and you run with it,but maybe later on, you just have to take into account what others are showing slightly more, i had this problem HUGE when i first started but read an article in inside edge which helped me pathc my play up slightlly

maybe when they started showing strenght though on the turn, you should have eased off or folded with bet and re-raise it looked probable they had something

But hey its easier to sit here for a minute or so to think about it than at the table

Disclaimer:take anything i say with a pinch of salt

Bet more on the flop. You should be betting like 3-6 here depending on how likely it is your opponet will draw w/o odds.

Turn - Hearts hit, a striaght card hit and he raises after you lead for 1/2 pot? I tend to think I'm beat here.
    BB is t100
Preflop: Hero is UTG with :3d :5d,
    Hero raises to t500

You wanna bet $6 on this flop. Too many draws. Given the way this went down, you had no reason to call on the turn. Way too many hands that can be out there beat you.

    Any 2 hearts
    T8
    J9
    79
    67
    66
    77
    99

The reason why these hands are out there is because you came in limping. If you're the first in the pot, RAISE!!! Why raise with QJ? You shouldn't It's a garbage hand in NL. You shouldn't have been in this hand in the first place. The raise cam from the button and people take the button raises less seriously.

Alex covered a lot of what I was thinking especially the pre-flop part.

Ok, you didn't fold pf or raise coming in so here we are on the flop with top pair and a str8/flushing board. Your bet was ASKING FOR TROUBLE! $2 into a $5.25 pot is giving 3.6:1 expressed odds and your stack had $16 more for implied odds of 11.6:1. Would those odds be enough for you to call with any piece of that board?

Besides the str8 and flush draws any A or K makes a better single pair! In hold'em most hands are won by 2 pair+ by the the river! You do not want to go to the river with 4th best single pair!! Bet the pot and hope to take it down on the flop - a small pot won vs a large pot lost!
