Yeah I'm still on this one... little help here. I got the idea in theory you can raise anything at anytime as far as table conditions, etc. But thinking about overall ranges here. NOTE: LIMIT NOT NL.
From what I'm gathering about shorthanded play is basically 2 paint cards and most pocket pairs are generally raising hands especially in an unopened pot, (at least that's what I got so far). Also I'm focusing on MP CO and button play here.
Where there's a good chance you're getting 1-2 limpers (depending on your position) 90% of the time... still raise it up with these hands?. I'm usually doing it suited/connected but offsuit also? (ex. ATo, KTo, QTo, OJo, etc.).
Or am I thinking too general here? I don't know what SH play is like at higher limits, but so far 4-5 handed to the flop is pretty common. So I'm incorporating all suited connectors into play (unless raised before me) also (which from what I understand usually suck for SH play)

From what I have seen at higher limits, *usually* people tend to only raise really premium hands OOP so if someone UTG(+1) comes out firing, they usually have some ammo. The tables I've been playing I have been folding mid-pairs in EP & MP because I had been limping mid pairs into raises from LP+ and higher PP's HU or 3 handed and it wasn't good. In MP & LP in un-opened pots I stuck to limping mid pairs 66-99, ATs and AJ(s), raising TT+, big slick & chick (suited or non), occasionally KQs. Facing a raise or re-raise on the CO or Button I was only calling JJ+ or AK. I havent seen AA, KK, or QQ in almost 2K hands though so my play at higher limits with uber premium hands is limited.. JJ has been a MONSTER for me lately though! I occasionally limp TJ, QJ, and KJ or suited connectors 67+ from the blinds depending on the table..
I played about 500 hands of $1/$2 the other night and was low 20's VPIP, WSD was low, W$SD was high and I doubled up 4 different tables (20BB buy-in), leaving as soon as I hit 40-50BB, almost doubled another, and lost half a buyin on another sticking pretty tight to playing those hands in those positions. Most of the tables at $1/$2 were +/- 45-50%VPIP so I was usually one of the tighter(est) people at the table. I didn't see many flops of 4-5 or 6 at all, mostly HU, 3 or 4..
FWIW, 75ish % of my recent run has been won on the button. Don't know if it's pure coincidence or what, but looking overall at my PT #'s, UTG and EP were kicking my ass even not limping with decent hands, so I I've been almost air-tight there as of late..

This isn't me, but what I'd recommend to you for open-raising:
UTG:
AA-TT
AK
AQs
MP/CO
99
88
AQ
AJ
KQ
Button
77-22
AT
A9
KJ
Axs
QJs
JTs
T9s
The blinds are true feel spots in any form of limit with no one in the pot.
With anyone in the pot, I'd say to raise:
MP:
AQ
CO:
AJ
KQ
Button
KJs
ATs
This could be heavily flawed as these are my feelings for you, but table conditions morph every robotic strategy in 6max. limit. That's why I'm so attracted to it. It reminds me of PLO in this manner that the only rule is that there are no rules, only strategies v. strategies.
