One thing I've been struggling with is what to do on hands where I've got two big cards (say AQ, for example) and the board is all rags. What kind of criteria should I be using to decide if I can think my hand is best and go ahead and bet or call it down vs just dumping it? Generally in situations like this I will have raised PF and anyone else in the pot would have called.
I'm thinking mostly for limit games, but the same could apply for NL as well.

It depends alot on pot odds and there is a good section in SSHE and on HPFAP. It depends on the size of the pot and the players you are against, aggressive decent players will watch you and know what you typically do. I find hands like JT or KQ are better for making OC calls than AK or AQ because players are more apt to call PF with AX, and you can often be reverse-dominanted on ragged flops.

I would have figured that hands like that would be in trouble because so many people love to play aces that I'd have a hard time expecting anything less than A hight to win.
