After tons of bad beats, being rivered so many times.
I feel like I need a heart massage!
is it normal that bad beats affect me this way? has anyone of you ever been so unlucky that it makes you sick to the bones?
I've come to the conclusion that I need a break and probably should read some books. But I just keep find myself playing.
Some words of wisdom needed..

Throw your mouse and keyboard out the window.
If you're not willing to do that, uninstall the software.
If still too much, just walk away. That idea is money.BOSS

It still makes me sick sometimes, but it doesn't last as long as it used to. I used to tilt and start playing more hands, re-raising etc. Now I calm down a lot quicker and purposefully tighten up after a bad beat and try and regain my focus.
I don't think there's any one thing that anyone can say that will stop you from getting angry/tiliting, but as long as you played a hand to the best of your knowledge then that is as much as you can do. If you're unsure that played it right, get it posted on here and get other's opinions.
I just try and remember that I got my money in with the best hand, and he outdrew me - variance.

I had a similar bad spell, it lasted 5 days, I think as long as you can see that you are not on tilt then you should just keep playing. You never know when that bad run of cards is going to come to an end so just keep pushing on through.
If you are on tilt then you have to unplug for a while, go for a walk, a couple of beers or even sleep with your wife... whatever it takes to clear your head!
When my bad run came to an end I had lost the first 2 tourneys of the evening, I could easily have stopped there but I knew I was playing well so I carried on and won the next 2 tourneys leaving me $50 up for the day. Glad I didn't stop just because I was getting out drawn otherwise I would have been down at the end of that day instead of nicely in profit.Bad Beat of the week 27/08/2006:
:kh :jd
Flop - :jc :3s :6d I raise 2/3 pot, Villian calls.
Turn :kd - I raise to put villian all in, he calls
he flips over :4d :4s
River :4c

I'm not on tilt.
But a lot of times I'm not very confident either, especially after a bad beat or two. I keep playing, but without much feel of the game I'm in, I only do the math and forget about other important stuff. I won't see habbits and can't spot bluffs and semi-blufs that easy anymore. And even if I'm up after a game I still feel bad about it .
I just don't play poker in the real sence of the word anymore. I feel like my opponents base their actions on me and theres nothing I can do about it.
Who shows me the light?

I'll make sure poker doesn't go away in your absence. . . .Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?

You def need a break, but it doesn't mean you need to stop analyzing the game.
Post some hands you've played during this run....let us take a crack at them. Read a book...study, and come back with a fresh perspective.

I have to walk away at least once a session (Don't give that "It's all one long session" cliche.) for at least 10 minutes. I'm a pretty emotional person in general, but I don't want to change it. It's me. I'm aware of it and of course, at times, I take the break one or two hands too late, but you know when you can't play your best in the moment. Just be honest with yourself. If you can't be honest with yourself, you shouldn't play poker because that opens a whole new can of worms.

session I jUST played @ .10-.25nl 6 max:
all in PF v.s maniac (like im happy to push in no time)
me QQ him AA, i lose
hand2;
i raise KK, dude calls, flop Q32, he bets, i raise. all in. he shows 33.
hand3. me all in pf w/AA v.s QQ. lose.
then i trip up with AJ on board of; T8JJ. river 9. i eventually folded b/c i felt i should.
so what was my secret to success?
"Plastics"
no seriously its Multi Tabling. with overlap mind you. I play 6 tables of 6 max NL simultaneously. (infact sometimes a few of the tables are 3-4 handed). basically this means i have no time to stop and think about the crapyness.
Now if all those beats happened while i was 1 tabling, id be coming into every pot with the expectation of loseing. but when you have several tables going, you dont really think about it.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.
