I like the way you played both of these hands. I might've raised PF in the 1st to give yourself a better shot on the flop.

But your flop, turn, and river was solid, luck aside. You had a good approach.

    :good:

I like the postflop play in both hands but in the second hand you should raise or fold pre-flop.

I'd agree with with in a lot of spots, but:

A.) He can take the power in the hand if the BB has no pair and misses the flop, being next to act.

B.) The overall power is weakened being sandwiched between the raiser and the button.

C.) You don't wanna start a raising war with 4's.

A great advantage to raising is this hypothetical:

    Pre-flop:
BB raises. Hero 3-bets. Button folds. BB caps. Hero calls.

    Flop: 5-9-3 rbw
BB checks. Hero bets. BB folds.

In a sandwich, he was more comfortable playing for set value, so I'll applaud that he stuck with his gut as opposed to putting himself in a precarious situation. That situation was an Ace. The BB trapped himself when he got cute when a lot of straight draws were on board that involved big cards that people will call 2 bets PF holding. And, of course lo pairs catchin' sets

Let me guess, hand 1 you lost to a small set??? I think you played it perfectly though

Hand 2 I am 90% certain the BB has AA the other 10% says QQ or 99. I have never seen a 32/10 player raise from the BB and check on an AQ9 flop unless he flopped a set.

I like your raise on the turn to see where you are at, but once he 3 bets you have to know his holding is 90% AA, 9% QQ, 1% 99, any way you slice it you are dead. when he 3 bets I would have went into call down mode, that action screams "I traapt you"

I think you overplayed hand 2 a bit. This would have been a great time to stop and think about the hand when you were 3 bet on the turn. It seems like you were just elated you made a set.

Hand 1 my 4 on the river completed his ISSD of a whopping 2,3o he was playing giving him a 6 high str8.

Hand 2 BB had pocket 9's.

Good point though about thinking about the 3 bet on the turn I was more leaning towads something like AK at first and was slowplaing his pair of aces, but I agree I overplayed that one. I really didn't give much tought to his 3 bet, (another clicking before thinking moment) calling down after the 3 bet on the turn would've been a much better idea.
