.50/1 on Party
I am having more trouble than I thought playing on party. Over 400 hands, I'm down 4 bucks. I keep getting outdrawn by the many callers.
I was wondering if you guys could build a little .5/1 guide, like which hands to play preflop, which to raise with, how agressive to be on the flop, and so forth?
I feel like I am being tight, and I'll flop TPTK or 2 pair, but then they board will 4 flush or 4 straight, and I'll be out. Is this just accredited to bad luck (only first 400 hands) or should I tighten up even more?

You are down 1 bb/100 hands and you are worried? Unless you are a net (-) player, I think this is just variance.
Of course, I still believe you are overextending your bank and had expectatons of easy cash.

what!
you're getting too many callers!!! where are they?
In NL you want callers. The problem I had last week with party is that I had a few tables where ppl came in with Grandmother bluffs preflop and killed the tabe..
As Marm says: An average 'bad' run is -100bb; In NL I've done (rarely) -300bb:
If a few bb down is worrying you.. you might be more concerend about tilt than anything..

The worst runs for me are the mini-ruts like the one that I'm in right now. I had an amazing night playing hold 'em on Saturday night/Sunday morning and since then I completely bombed a night playing Omaha and won a few bets in Stud. Runs like these scare me into thinking that I'm doomed to hit an inevitable downfall. All of the walls will come crashing down and... I post this on a forum and I feel a bit better. I'm still not happy with my play over the last couple of days and see that I've been lucky to not fall hard.
I'm all about the "long term" mumbo-jumbo, but immediate struggles and even failure raise questions that hurt the confidence necessary to play these games well. I think I just need to get laid again. Friday night, I had a little 4 hr. sexcapade and those always rile me up to play cards. One or two of those a week always help the soul.

4BB is nothing, one good pot will put you in the green.
twoplustwo has a lot of people playing this game, and Ed Miller's Small Stakes Hold'em would is a good book, but I am not sure the party folks are a big of maniacs as Ed assumes.
Also, remember that you have odds to draw in the loose hold'em games, so make sure you get your piece of it.

I have read on either this forum or 2+2 that Party seems to always put out pocket pairs with others. This has happened 90% of the time I have had a pocket pair. Three times I have had QQ and another person had AA. It is really frustrating when the community is 10 high, and AA beats me with QQ. I am scared every time I get a pocket pair.
Is this just a fluke with me or do you guys notice this too?
EDIT: This is really getting to me, I got dealt 33 in LP, UTG raised, I figured he had a higher PP, 1 called, everyone else folded, so I folded. He wound up having 10 10. Guess what the flop was? 9 3 3.
Pffff.....

Maybe you should realize, with 9 more people to act, there is a 47%+ chance of another PP out there. So, yes its goign to seem there are frequently multiple PP's out there, BECAUSE THERE ARE.

Show me proof bonch. You cannot say that without knowing, for certain, that it's not. You also cannot say for certain that it is either. There is no proof either way.
I use my good judgement. I do not believe the sites I play on are rigged. Thats why I don't play Aboslute poker anymore, that 6 thingy was weird.
