If you _only_ play holdem I recommend pokeroffice.
If you play omaha or stud as well then get pokertracker.
Pokeroffice has a hud package built in, pokertrackers are third party and the better of them ( PAhud ) is another $20 taking it to $75 against POs $79.
PO also has inbuilt options like graphing and odds that PT doesn't have built in.A good education is expensive but ignorance costs more.

Gryff, that makes no sense.
PTH is $30 cheaper than PO, so if you ONLY play Hold'em get PT. The PAHUD is an optional add-on, with very competent free alternatives, that is like getting all the nice luxury options on a car. Even with PAHUD, it is still cheaper than PO. It's like getting a fully loaded Lexus for less than a Used stock Buick.
And if you play Stud or Omaha, you have no choice, there are no other Trackers for those that I can think of, you have to get PTO and PTH.
I played with a PO demo a while back and was not impressed. I felt the Flop-entry stat then was not a good representation of actual play. The PT VPIP is exactly what you should be looking at. That was a while ago, and I think PO made some changes to it, but in response to the more accurate PT way.
80%-90% (guesstimate, maybe higher) of the poker community that uses a tracker uses PT. All the features that are built into PO that are not in PT are available as FREE add-ons. PT Encourages and has forums for developing third party software to access it's dbase.
Save the money, stick with what most everybody else has, get PT.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

It makes perfect sense - its a much more complete package than pokertracker.
It comes with a hud, graphing options, when you go through a replay it gives you the odds % etc.
With PT you have to mess around getting gt+ or pahud, then get the graphing stuff, etc. etc. its just hassle.
Also the menus etc are static if you play more than 4-5 levels its a pain to scroll through and if you have a reasonable size database its very laggy.
Thats why for holdem I recommend PO, but for stud/omaha you need PT.
If you play holdem+omaha+stud then PT is probably better as you get a uniform experience across the games.A good education is expensive but ignorance costs more.

The Pt Replayer Gives odds and all that.
The menus are resizable.
You can select to show only certain levels to show. Infact if you are playing 4-5+ levels, you should only be looking at a few of them at a time because the change in play at the different leves can skew your numbers.
Add-ons have not been a hassle, and the fact that they are third party allows for more complex features since you have different people focusing on different aspects of the add-ons. Just not a couple of guys trying to manage one large project.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

The PT replayer gives you odds if you select it, you cant just look at a hand the way you can in PO.
The menus are most definately not resizeable - horizontally the internal fields are but not vertically and thats pretty annoying.
The rest is all personal preference, and as for "I shouldn't look at multiple levels" - I play stud8 and studhi I play across 3-4 levels in each depending on game selection and availability. I'm not allowed to do that because marm says ?
Different folks different strokes marm. I gave my opinion and then you come and urinate on it, well thanks but its my opinion and I'd rather you were hygienic and used the toilet - Just because you disagree it doesn't mean I don't make sense.A good education is expensive but ignorance costs more.

No, I'm not urinating on your opinion, I just don't see your logic why you should by PO for almost twice the price with no extra features?
And again, yes the menus are resizable in both directions, so I have no problem seeing 8-10 levels at once.
From What I have seen, having played with PO, it is an inferior Product from just the way it looks at the stats.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

Actually, I think Marm was clearly shitting on your opinion, not urinating. Let's look at the video . . . yes, there's Marm, clearly taking a dump on your opinion. In ultra slow motion you can even see the corn kernels.
- Come on guys, can't we all just get along?
Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

i think PO looks alot better graphics wise. looks newer. PT looks like it from da ghetto. i use pt strictly for NLHE. and im kind of not saticfied. many things that i want it to do that it can't* (and PO prolly can't eather). imo use demo versions, then see if the product is right for your game. I also rarely use HUDs b/c it screws up my game.
* like filter players' stats via how short handed the game was; many games i play are 2-6 handed, and so the stats become a mix of 2-6. Thus they are innacurate.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.
