I don't like your push on the river. He's obviously not buying that you have the J, and with no flush or straight draws out there one of the things he may well be calling you down with is a big ace. If he DOESN'T have a bigger ace, your push is a bet that will only get called if you're beat. I think you need to make a smaller bet, one that looks like you WANT a call, like 1/2 the pot. If he comes over the top you can think about getting away from it (but with the big pot you've built you may be commited anyway).

the only reason i pushed the river is because he checked it and i had AAJJK as a hand, so unless he had that J(which i didnt believe) or AK(which i think he would have bet out stronger after my min reraise instead of checking the river and turn) i figured it would be a split for a call or a very silly call on K or simply a fold. He called it in the end and mucked his hand so i can only presume a KQ or some sorts. As a note i would have checked the river if i had not hit that ace.

If I were trying to represent the jacks in this hand I'd flat call the flop and bet/raise at least 3/4 the pot on the turn. If he calls that bet I'm check/folding the river.

raising with a4 in this spot sucks because usually if you are called you have a pretty good chance of being dominated. i would raise this short handed where my ace rates to be best.

if you want to raise a marginal hand, a few things have to happen

-you have to be a good post flop player. looking at this hand, you are not.
-you have to have great position, which you had in the CO
-how had the table been playing? was there a chance of you taking this pot on the flop? otherwise why are you raising with A4o at a full table?
edit: didnt mention here, the most important part, that it would be better to raise with a hand here that is less likley to be dominated

even with position i dump A4o in a standard 7+ handed ring game.
