I wasn't sure whether this belonged in river rats or here since it's both a whine and a question.
I don't know WHAT my issues is, but I've been getting absoloutely KILLED lately - no matter what I play it seems (I got shelled at both limit and trying the SS NL method yesterday). It's really starting to get to me.
At what point do I have to say it's not just variance and I've developed some big ole hole in my game? What types of things should I be looking at to try and decipher them? When I look back at my hand histories of my big money losers I don't see anything I think I'm doing wrong, but if I thought it was wrong in the first place I wouldn't have done it.
I wish you could clear bonuses more places with SnG's - that's the only thing I've had ANY success at lately.

Well, a downswing can be very long and tough. Over how many hands is "lately"? Do you have a friend who's a good player that maybe can look through your hand histories? If you're doing the same error multiple times you might not see it as an error. Considered taking a break and read a poker book/s and then look at the hand histories again after that?

Welcome to the board Porg, and thanks for the input.
Not recognizing my error is really what I'm concerned about - doing something that I think is a smart play that's really costing me money. That's the problem when you get to the point where you think you know what you're doing - you can overlook your own errors.
I've read (and am reading) several books, but maybe it's time to go back and re-read Small Stakes Holdem.I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but everying is in order just like it should be.

Just a thought I was having
Outta curiousity Gir, are you possibly trying to trap/slowplay a little more often than usual? I find when I try to do that more often than not in hands someone draws out.

Girevik,
Thank you for the Welcome.
Have you tried to take a break? I think Re-reading Small Stakes Holdém while getting a tan in the garden would be a great way to get on the right track again.

Gir, I know you got PT (right?). I want you to load all your hands within a limit (so if you are playing .5/1, load all your .25/.50-1/2 hands) and I want you too look deep into the stats. List all the hands by WinRate / hand or /100. Look for Flyers in the data. Do you have a hand or type of hand that you play regularly that has a -WR?. Ex, If AKo has a neg WR, take the last 5-10 hands and give them a good look. If you can't figure out any holes, post them. Look at positional numbers too. You should be +WR from every position but the blinds. If you are + in the blinds, then thats a good thing. Look for WR's that jump out of order with position. Like if MP has a way lower WR than EP, that means you are probably opening up your hand reqs too soon. Just go through every possible stat you can find and look for things that are out of place.

Are you reccomending I do this for all my hands, or just since I've been struggling?

Both. A comparative study would be nice. Do All, Before, After. Use one of the grpahing programs for PT to help pinpoint when you started losing.

Are you playing rings or tourneys?
To me ring games are a lot more profitable and easier since you can sit out bad card runs. In tourneys you need some immense skill to compensate.
