Default 2 Pair in a big Multi-Way

PokerStars 0.05/0.10 Hold'em (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: ITH Forums)

Preflop: Hero is SB with , .
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (8 SB) , , (8 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, MP3 calls, Button caps, Hero calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (14.50 BB) (5 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, UTG+1 folds, MP3 folds, Button calls, Hero calls.

River: (17.50 BB) (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Button folds, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 19.50 BB

With so many people seeing the flop there was definately the possibility of a set or a higher two pair. What are your thoughts on the 3-bet and the call down?

I'm thinking AQ,KK,AA or A8 spades. less likely seems trips.

whether your play was good depends on the reads u have on your opponents. But I think it's allright.

Well seeing as I sent you there, I better tell you the way we played it. First off, Unless you have seen a player to be competent, assume they are a maniacal fish.

I think you should have capped the turn too. There are still 5 players in the pot. There are only 2 of you (maybe a thrid chasing the flush) really in contention for this pot. You's gots equity.

At this level, its all about the equity. There was so much dead money in this pot, that even if you lose it, you will win enough capped pots to make up for any losses you may incur.

Be super tight, and UBER super aggressive. And never ever double think a laydown. If you have any doubts at all about laying a hand down, call it down, most likely they are bluffing.

You should, with a little practice and learning curve, be able to make 7-10 /100 at this level.

I forgot the results, BB ended up having 45o. So, Marm you were right about assuming everyone's a fish. I've increased my br by about 40% on this level tonight and so far it looks like you made a good recommendation.

You have a great but vulnerable hand because of the straight and flush possibilities. I don't put much stock into flop raises at these levels. The only clear mistake here is not betting out on the turn. I think capping as Marm said is reasonable, but calling down after raised then is reasonable as well. But you need to at least bet out until you can be sure they aren't both on draws, and I don't think you be at all sure of that until raised on the turn.
