Default how do i get more money into these pots?

wtf.... more live hands... comments.
.50/1 with friends i started with $60

had a bout 120 b4 this hand
UTG raises to $3 and i have behind him. i make it $10 to go. folds back to him he thinks and calls. so he has 10's, jacks, or AK.
flop is
so im like awesome, near ideal flop. i put him on AK before. he checks and i figure the best way to play the hand is to check behind. if im wrong i could make alot of money if he makes some weird flush or fills up lower than me. betting out is stupid cause he could easaily toss 8's. hes a decent player, no donk. i check behind and the turn is totally blank, i think it was some 7.
he bets out $7.50 so im like yay hes mine ak is no gooooood. i raise to $20 (as usuall i had been making raises and not showing down hands, playing tricky, this looked completely standard from me) he JUST CALLS! so now i know he doesnt have AK, or any king for that matter, he would have raised. hes got about $50 left at this point. river is another complete blank. and he checks. so im like fuck, he got a mid pocket pair, maybe AQ or something. hes too smart for a really small bet, so i decide to make a normal sized bet on the river. i bet $20, he thought for ages and folded jacks.
wtf? he gave me credit? was sure he would call 20....
HOW DO I GET MORE MONEY INTO THIS POT?!

2nd hand... ive got a nice stack of like $150 or so

in early position (6 handed game) i raise $3. folds to like the CO who calls, i havnt played with this kid in a year. hes a winning player but i think he plays too straight up. so who knows what he has, flop will tell.
flop is
awesome flop! course i lead out for half the pot, he comes right over the top for $10 more. i had a guess he thought i was making a continuation bet with like AK or AQ (due to a physical tell and the nature of the player he was)
so, assuming my hand is probably best and we see i have the sweet draw,
HOW MUCH DO I RAISE, if any?
(i raised in this spot, but like i said, i was playing agressive. smooth call would be suspicious imo, especaily when i fire on the turn again)

I might bet the flop in the first hand, half pot-pot. Since you said you were playing aggy he might put you on a continuation bet and call, other than that i'll probably slow this one down.

flop im betting half the pot. the only way ur gonna get action here is if he hit something too. If he has AK, u dont want to check behind and lose money on the flop. What i do here is bet half the pot. If he was going for a check-raise on the flop with AK, then u can come over the top and get his money in as a huge favourite to win.

With ur pf RR on a UTG raise, he should have read you for QQ KK or AA. If u decide to check behind on the flop, then he would know u are slow playing QQ or KK because AA would have bet the flop for sure. If he has AK, then he will know that its not possible for u to have KK, and since AA would have bet the flop, he will know u have QQ if u decide to check behind.
However, if he has AK, and u bet the flop - he will probably put u on AA and therefore raise you.
If he has TT or JJ ur not gonna be getting action here anyways, since he should have read u for QQ+ already, which means that he knows hes already drawing dead, or drawing to 2 outs at most.

A check behind is the worst play to do imo, because u end up losing alot of money on the flop. It also looks very suspicious because u RR pf, then check-behind when it was checked over to you. This screams that u flopped a monster.

makes sense guys

my thinking was:
i raise his utg raise pf. i bet the flop of QKK. he would assume im going to slowplay quads or queens full, so if i bet hes going to read me for AA and fold. however if i check, not only can i have the nuts, i can have a lower pair, or nothing. i was 95% sure (i have played poker with this guy for 2 years) hes going to bet out the turn with JJ or whatever.

hmmm....interesting. ill think about it. how bout 2nd hand?

on the 2nd hand, i would have played the flop differently. Im betting the full potsize there on the flop. When u make the halfpotsize bet, it looks like a cb with AK AQ AJ. which means he may raise flop with not only JJ TT 33 55, but also 88 99, maybe even 77.
By betting only half the pot, and allowing him to think that u missed the flop with AK AQ or AJ, the hand now becomes alot harder to play because ur now guessing if he has JJ TT 33 55 or 77 88 99, OOP.

On the flop i bet ps. If villian is a tight/solid player and he still decides to raise me on the flop, i will figure that he is more likely to be holding JJ TT 33 or 55, then anything else. That is when i slowdown, and just call his raise, now playing the hand for flush value. If i hit my flush, i will go for a check-raise on the turn. If i dont, i may go into check-fold or check-call mode depending on read on player. If my hand improves slightly as in if i get another 10 or a A on the turn, i may lead out again to see where i am at.

If this is live, on the 2nd hand just go all in as fast as possible and sit there like a stone.

Don't move at all until he calls.
