    Hmmm... Where do I begin?

1.) El Zero can break you at any time.

2.) When attempting what you think is a resteal, leave yourself an out. If you can't afford to leave yourself an out, you can't afford to resteal. You can do this to him 5 times and be successful and then El Zero gets it all back, more, and you're gone in 1 hand.

3.) This is a horrible structure for being cute. Aggression works best with a structure is which stacks get deep. That won't happen here. In this structure, sit back and get aggressive with stronger hands. The small stacks in relation to the blinds will induce a lot of action with marginal to bad hands in desperation.

This is just off the top of my head and trying not to ramble, but half a book can be written. I'll bet the other posters will add-on exponentially to compile that book in this thread.

Yeah i guess if i would have 8k that would have given me alot more fold equity, luckily my read was good

How did you manage to read the big blind as well?

A fairly pointless move I think.

Yeah i think i was a little too trusting of my read here and ingnored the fact i was giving pretty good odds to call.

the "hammer" as harington calls it really works better with hands like J10s, Q10s, Mid-low pockets etc. most of the value comes from fold equity, but you need to win a decent number even when your called and behind. any hand that calls this push is likely to be a large favorite to J2o

that extra 10% really does make a difference in the long run

I think Alex has it spot on - you left yourself no backdoor. Raising 2x-3x probably would have accomplished the same thing and still left you in the game if he (or the BB) really did have a hand.

900 in pot, he puts in 1.2.
    I dont move in for 1 reason here;
minmum raises from early pos look like they might want action

he put in 1.2k so he might aswell call the next 5k
he has a stack that can take a 6k blow

While i highly encourage your style, i think in this particular hand I would not push. Although if you get called, I would imagine It will be 6 outs, so its not like its the end of the world. (although you stealing will now be dissrespected)
I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

I don't think this is such a bad play . . . picked up 1/3 of your stack with this move when you're down to an M of less than 7.

He has a good read (at least he says so) on villian, and if you can't resteal in the SB then when can you?

The SB is the most believable resteal, as people will reraise with a lot of legitimate hands to negate being out of position.

    He can't really leave himself an out here either . . . raising 3x the villian's raise is 3600 . . . he's only got 6100 and the blinds are 300/600.

What's he going to do, fold and save the 2500???

And I think restealing on the short stack can be very effective at times.

I think waiting around 2 rounds just to put it all in with A9o in EP is worse than making this play.
Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
    Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

"I think waiting around 2 rounds just to put it all in with A9o in EP is worse than making this play."
This was my main consideration when making this play.(Beside my read of course)
