Default Should I have pushed PF w/ 66

No history on any of the players. Preflop I put Villian on high pair or Axs, so that was my thinking for the entire hand against him. Which might be giving him to much credit. It was only a 5 dollar SnG, and people play alot of junk hands.

    Here are my questions.

    1. Should I have pushed PF, RR him about 120 - 150
    2. Should I have just folded PF, only first hand in the tourny
    3. Since I flat called PF, push on the flop to find out if my 66 are good.

I am thinking that if I would have pushed on the flop and he flat called me he had the Ax, if he RR he had overpair. This is what I am thinking I should have done but not sure.

    Thanks

Don't reraise preflop. Certainly don't push.

There's a case for pushing the flop though the pot doesn't really warrant it.

The call on the flop isn't great.

    Fold the turn.

You're playing 66 for set value here, if you miss you don't want to lose any more chips.

$5 SnG UTG raise dont necessary show a great hand

it can be another fish who is like "WOW, I caught AJ I will raise !!! "

I really think that the flop was extremely good for 66

damn its rare to get overpair with 66, bet it stronger .

I agree with Rex, play 66 for a set. Don't get tricky or risky early for a 400 chip pot. Once you are in level III, a 400 pot is nothing. Save the extra chips now for doubling up later.

I like bumping the flop a bit here. Definatley not a push though. HE raises a little PF, then makes a decent bet on the flop, but I'm dounting he's got this hand, so I'm raising to get some info, and hopefully take it down. If he reraises, then I'm folding, if he calls, then I'm almost 100% he got big overs, and that 9 doesn't scare me and then I'm pushing.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

Call PF as long as you're getting 10:1 implied+direct odds.

At these blinds, with so little in the pot its:

    no set, no bet

and definitely no call or raise.

If you do hit your set just go all in as fast as possible (increases the bullshit factor and they call with absolutely nothing most times).
Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
    Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

preflop - with the UTG raiser having a stack of 1K, ur getting great implied odds to call with 66 to play it for set value. good play pf. definately do not RR like rex pointed out.

flop - 77 88 99 TT JJ QQ KK AA, have u beat here. The only hands u beat are AK AQ AJ. With no set here, u shouldnt be calling off any more chips. At this point its no set no bet. Not worth calling or raising here imo to see if opponent has a higher pp or AK AQ AJ. Blinds are still small, so u can easily see more flops and wait for better spots to get ur chips in the pot. Take the -40 chip hit, and move on and see the next hand.
