I guess from the stacks this was the very first hand of the tourney? In that case this play really doesnt surprise me. I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen someone go all-in with a small pocket pair in the first hand like this.

AA is the last hand that comes to mind. Some crap like A5s is more likely. BUt given the pot odds, you really can't get away from this. I don't like checking the turn here. If you are willing to call the all-in, just push, you feel less stupid that way. The pot is too big to fold anyways, so you noght as well put it in there now and maybe possibly fold a hand that could beat you on the river.

In a low stakes tourney there is always a bunch of idiots who go broke on the first hand

You push all-in pre-flop

Those two things seem to go hand in hand....

I don't know about you, but I prefer to play poker, not the lottery.

I can understand not pushing PF if you want to see a flop and avoid an Ace, but if you see no Ace on the flop and you're willing to invest all of your chips, just push on the flop. This is a crowded pot. Bad time to get cute. Play it hard and end the hand now or keep the pot small to give yourself the oppurtunity to minimize your investment to give yourself an out. You were in between.

EDIT: misread thread
