What this really comes down to is this; What is your intention? (ha! Apollo 13 quote!)

Do you want to increase your profits, or win the event?

In $ EV, folding is the only option.

But if you intend on winning, damn the lower places, then you must call. You cannot win a tournament by folding AA to 2 players, in any circumstance. You are giving up HUGE $ EV for a huge increase in TC EV. And you know it, and you accept that risk.

This is not a clear cut answer, it really depends on what you want. Personally, I'm happy with busting out third if it increases my chances of the win.
