Default 5s on the button

Ok guys, no HH but this just happened to me in an SNG I was playing in.

I'm on the button with 5s, all action has been folded to me and blinds are 100/200 at an unusually tight table (still 7 of 9 people left at those blinds - very, very tight). I have the 2nd short stack and I'm running cold on cards. I limp looking for set value on the flop and the small blind who has seemingly awoken in the past 5 or 6 hands (raising every blind, etc. probably looking to steal some chips from crazy tight players) raises to 800 to go (about 3/4s of my stack) and the big blind folds. What would you guys do? It's pretty much all in or all out.

I folded because I didn't want to risk my tourney life on two 5s, but what is your play here? I can see an argument for just pushing because of my read on the guy, but who says I am perceiving his moves correctly? Maybe he has just been hitting cards a lot lately and they are legit raises. I dunno. He actually showed his hand after I folded and he showed 9T suited , but I still think I made the right move by laying it down.

my point is; preflop all folds to you. your running cold. blind is 200, so your stack is prolly under 2k? so 10bb you have. this is a good situation to take 300 chips from the blinds. they will prolly fold. if they dont, then your prolly raciing.

waiting it out 2 a tight tablke is wrong. loosening up and saying "screw it" is better.

I hear you, but I think this was holding me back:

Gah, it hurts

even though it shouldn't get into my thought process, I was just sick of the cold streak! I didn't want to go out a loser again on just a 55, no matter the circumstances. I did go on to win this one, though, so now that the monkey is off my back, I may have seen this situation the way you did.

I am happy wih what I did, though. I know I shouldnt be focused on just results, but fuck it, I won and I don't think it was a bad move to lay it down, though I wouldn't call it a good one, either. Just something that happened.
