I hadn't done a really good job paying attention to the table before this hand came up so I figured the thing was, if the blinds are 10/20, I can just lay the hand down and not have to put another chip in the pot playing a hand out of position. Obv weak/tight, but with a nice starting stack, it's one of the rare situations where I just felt like mucking the hand preflop

Good fold of AKo preflop?

this was a MTT right?
im probably calling pf. accumulating chips, is way more importent then saving them at this point imo. and AK is a great way to accumulate chips, if u can hit TP on the flop, then u can set urself up nicely for a check-raise.

Am I the only one re-raising here? In fact, I'm probably pushing all in.
If this guy had A's or K's, do we really think he'd raise it 7bb?

He's on the button and raising....his range here is probably big enough to justify a call with AKo out of position

It's a 1500 FPP SNG to The Sunday Tournament....
My big understanding is that although I have fold equity if I push, I'm likely guessing he has a hand like 99-QQ and he's not folding anyway and I'm taking away my skill from the other players:tc :8c

The guy has turned out to be a complete lunatic, but I still think it's right to fold the hand early in the SNG and wait for a better spot to devote chips. If I flop an A or K I'm likely not getting a cent anyway....

That's why I'm pushing all in here. If he does call with 99-QQ, you will still get all of his chips when an A or K flops.

I used to play A/K a lot differently until I read this article (which someone else had posted in another thread)....

Changed my entire thinking on AK.

You say you don't have a read. He's lost 500 chips already. Pull up the HH real quick and see how he lost it. Might give you some quick insight. I call here. You are off to a good start with 2000 chips. 120 isn't a huge investment. Unlikely the one guy acting after you will reraise. If an Ace or King hits the flop put him all in. You'll likely bust him here. He might have AQ, AJ or KQ. He might have 99-QQ. If he has KK/AA, so be it. You still stack KK if an Ace hits the flop. If he's given away 500 chips already in level 1 (unless HH shows a bad beat) he's likely desperate and willing to put it all in no matter what flops. If you don't pair, check/fold.
"There is a good chance I gave you a very bad description of something that doesn't work."

wow - i would never fold this unless there is 4+ people in the pot. It's a cheap call, see the flop and if you hit you're in luck. It's worth calling that PF DEFO!
