I dont mind the call PF, he's getting 7 to 1 on his money and his cards are suited. That to me is enough to complete the BB from the SB.

But I wouldn't bet this flop. I love semi-bluffing but I would never do it from UTG, against 4 players with a board that almost certainly hit somebody. I'm guessing you could have seen the turn for free and caught your flush cheaply. At that point, I'd bet it hard (probably pot sized....although I don't really mind your 3/4 pot sized bet either.)

River, I check fold like you did. He may be bluffing here, but what other hands would call you down to the river?

bet on the flop i just used to suss out if anyone may have hit anything. i figured betting this would let me know where i stood + build up the pot if i hit that 40% chance of getting a flush.

I can understand why you did it, I'm just saying that I wouldnt have done it from your position. If I was 3rd or 4th to act, then I probably would have done the same but not from UTG.

your check showed weakness...sending off a message to ur villain to bluff...

if he had a T he might have raised you on the flop to see where your at.

prolly same way by the turn to see if you have the flush.

I dont know about this one...depends on the buy-in too. Different level of play.

    Im probably calling this

Pates...did you have any kind of read on this guy?

I've run into a ton of players online who would play 10x the exact same way this guy did. What else could he have called the flop and turn with? JQ (OESD) maybe but that would be a really loose call on the turn. Medium pp? You figure he'd check the river with something like that.

I'd be willing to lay this down and wait for a better spot. If we fold here, we've still got an M of around 24 and will still be a contender. Also, this is a hand we shouldn't really have been in in the first place. Too many times I've busted from the blinds because I was involved in a pot that I normally wouldn't have been a part of. Never again.

you dont have anything, you have a draw, you are not 40% you are 35%, you dont want to build a big pot on the flop becuase you wont have the odds to draw on the turn when you miss, which you will do most times.

you dont want to bet draws OOP into a field, that is poker 101 because you will be costing yourself money if you bet the turn, and if you check you are broadcasting yourself as having a weak hand.
