Default How would you play it?

Ok, it's been a few weeks since I really played any poker and this is the 1st big hand I came across.

It's early in a MTT, I mean 3rd or 4th hand so absolutly no reads on any one.

I forgot to get the HH so its from memory the best I could.

    Blind 20/40
Everyone has around 3000 still. Not sure of the exact counts.
Get dealt in the BB and it gets minimum raised from EP.

4 players see the flop of . Pot 360

    1st player checks
    I check
    3rd player bets 120
    4th player folds it
    1st player calls
    I reraise to 500
    Both players call

    Turn is Pot 1860
    1st player checks it
    I raise it 1200
    3rd player goes all in
    1st player folds it
I reluctantly call thinking I'm beat whether for some reason they called with the straight draw or had AK or A10, but I can't let a pot this big go with a hand that could be ahead and outs against anything.

    River

3rd player shows the straight 10-A and takes the pot of about 6700.

I really hate my turn bet because it was almost half of what I had and it pot commited me. I think 800 would've been enough. If the checkraise worked like I wanted it to I wouldn't have a problem on the turn, but I get 2 callers...

your flop bet is what i hate.

Lead out strong, or if you wanna CR, then bump it more than 500.
    pot 360
    +120 +120, +500 = 1100
its only 380 for them to call a 1100 pot

check raise this to like 750-all in
I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

    You end up with A-A-K-K-10
    3rd palyer also has A-A-K-K-10

How woud I paly it? - I would split the pot - he has NO stright as that would require both a Q and a J of which there is neither!

Edit: the check-raise was fine except if you're going to do that you have to bet the pot or all-in to end it right there on the flop if possible!

He had the straight 10-A not A10.

It was my 1st time playing poker in almost a month so I wasn't paying attention fully at this point. I did notice that my reraise wasn't big enough to get rid of anyone after I posted.

Just after this I played in a 2-table sng and finished 2nd. Should've won, but I kept getting unlucky when the other player was all-in. So I'll think of this MTT as one just to get back into thinking poker correctly.

    OK - cool.
Maybe next time you'll state his hand. For example "He had the Q-J for the A-high str8". I'm sure there are must others who will discribe a str8 from one end to the other but I'm equally sure they would be in the minority to those who use the more familiar "High card-str8".

I agree with the check-raise all in. You'll more than likely pick up the pot right here, but any pot you can pick up early in an MTT is a good thing.

Allin on the flop if possible, though I'd have probably bet out rather than check-raise, it worked but I would make the draws pay for the turn. Raggedy two pairs with flush and straight draws need to take down pots as quickly as possible.
