Default Should I have folded my AK PF?

Both players had been quiet for a little while so I knew they both must have had something. I had MP3 on medium pair and thought pushing all in would get him to fold as I was hoping to isolate the SB.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (9 handed)

    MP2 (t1175)
    MP3 (t2315)
    CO (t2310)
    Button (t4550)
    SB (t1135)
    BB (t5700)
    UTG (t1088)
    Hero (t4060)
    MP1 (t440)

    Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with , .
    1 fold, Hero raises to t500, 2 folds, MP3 calls t500, 2 folds, SB raises to t1135, 1 fold, Hero raises to t4060, MP3 calls t1815 (All-In).

    Flop: (t7610) , , (3 players, 1 all-in)

    Turn: (t7610) (3 players, 1 all-in)

    River: (t7610) (3 players, 1 all-in)

    Final Pot: t7610

    Results in white below:
SB has Ad Qc (one pair, queens).
Hero has As Kh (high card, ace).
MP3 has Jd Jc (one pair, jacks).
    Outcome: SB wins t7610.

MP3's flat call doesnt scream big hand, and the shortstack could be pushing with any pair. I would prolly flat call SBs push and hope to check down with MP3 or flop a Ace or King. But I havent been playin many SNGs so... yea.

this is a nice re-raise. hopefull you will make the cold caller fold, and have it HU with the SB shorty.

SB is sitting on 11bb, so he could be going all in with AK-AT, or AA-77.
folding this after a minimum re-raise/all in from a shortstack is very stupid. calling this would be very stupid imo. re-raising like youd did is very smart.

    well done.
I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

yes i agree with gder here.. re-raising all in to isolate the short stack is the best option here imo.

If you're really looking to leave yourself an out here then the first raise needs to be smaller. Personally, when I'm not shortstacked, the amount I raise is dependent upon my position and my table image (read Phil Gordon's Little Green Book). . . . . I think 500 is too big a raise here (unless you have a loose image), but that's on my personal preferences, and if you've been raising that amount in EP then I'd stay consistent here.

But Once you make any raise here, get a call from a short stack, and get another all in, you're so committed it's ridiculous. Even if they both turn over their hands, I'm calling . . . . . .

Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
    Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.

Re-raising the SB's all-in with your all-in was a good play and if it worked (i.e. isolating the SB) your win % would automatically go up as opposed to playing 2 opps. This time is just didn't work is all.

As for folding what would posses you to do that? It's not like MP3 re-raised you and then the SB went all-in to give you second thoughts and you had already put MP3 on a mid pair so you should have been figuring on a coin flip anyway and the pot was giving better than that. It just stands to reason MP3 figured the same thing. If A-K isn't strong enough you're playing way too tight. I can't see folding the A-K in this situation. Calling was your other alternative but there no saying MP3 would not have gone all-in pre-flop trying to isolate the SB the same as you tried. Looks like a nice pot for AK!

Ya, I realise folding was not really an option. At the time I was thinking that maybe one of them could have had Ks or As though.

Yeah, if MP3 reraises then SB goes all in, I'm folding . . . . . I've only invested 500 chips, and it seems like one or the other has picked up a really big hand.
