Alright people
Not long ago i decided to sign back up to PokerStars and started with a BR of $60.00. After some bad play and being on tilt a number of times i was down to around $40.00.
I decided to take my chances at the 0.10/0.25 NL Cash Tables which i know i shouldnt have done. I eventually got back up to $90.00 and was starting to do well.. this is where the problems started
I was playing last night and luck just did not go my way. I called someone who went All In preflop. I had Ac Kc while they had Qh7d and they won on a pair of 7s. I ended up losing a great deal of cash and am now down to $22.00.
This is where you guys come in.. what do you think i should do? Think i should chance my luck and see if i can double up on this limit table or actually work real hard on building my BR up again with the minimum limit tables?
I wouldnt mind some help and this time i will make the effort to follow the help given to me
Cheers

Im quite sure we are the same kind of player considering I started with a BR of $50 at Pokerstars. I played for 3 month with that BR and im now at $180 something.
0.01 & 0.02 - Those players are not even fish, they are amobea. You will suffer many
bad beats if you play there and the average pot is usually around 1 $.
Those tables are crap.
0.02 & 0.05 - Quite similar to 0.01 & 0.02 with the only difference that the average
pot is slightly higher. Those table are also crap.
0.05 & 0.10 - Those table are full of fish but you can also find some players with
"average" skills. If you carefully choose your table and spot weak players
willing to spend cash you can easily get to 40 $ in few hours. Those are
the tables you should play considering your bankroll. Well thats where I
regularly do my cash
0.10 & 0.25 - You wont find much more skilled player than in the 0.05 & 0.10 tables
but you will find players with bigger BR. The maximum is $25 for the table
and you should never put less than that. If you dont want to put more
money in your BR you shouldnt play those table with less than $75 in
your BR. You must also feel confortable to play $1-2 Pre-flop otherwise
you risk to tighten too much. If you feel unconfortable at those table
you might win much more cash on $0.05-0.10.
Your bankroll is not big enough to play higher than that.
If you are confident enough about your skills you can find a lot of money in Sng and in daily NL tournaments.
$3.00 + 0.40 Turbo 10 players SnG.
Those SnG are played in 30 minutes or even less and are played by a bunch of fishes. With a correct tight SnG strategy you can finish 1st about 1 time on 3 and finish in the cash over 75 % of the time.
The net gain of those SnG are
1st = $11.60
2nd =$5.60
3rd = $2.60
If you consider 1st giving 3 points, 2nd giving 2 pts and 3rd giving 1 points, you need to have an average of 1 points per Sng to be positive. That mean finishing 1st at least 1 on 3 or 2nd at least 1 on 2. Those Sng are extremely easy to beat. Play very tight, Double up at least once before the blinds get too big and you make top 3 almost always. The problem is that it dont pay that much. 5 Turbo SNG per day should bring at least 15 $ net gain in 2 hours otherwise its a waste. Play 2 of those Sng at the same time is much more profitable.
My favorite is MT $5 SnG with 18 or 27 players.
Do a daily $5 NL HE tourney and it will be profitable in the long run.
The only real advice i can tell you is to make a playing strategy and follow it with discipline.Last edited by Nightshades; 04-27-2006 at 02:19 AM.

Similarly you shouldn't rely on "good" or "bad" luck. If you play at the right level then luck (eventually) ceases to be a factor and you get the appropriate amount of suckouts and the appropriate amount of fish giving you their money. The difference is because you are within your roll you can take the hit of the suckouts without it being a critical event.
I try really hard not to refer to luck as a factor because it can lead to delusions of adequacy during the good times and unhelpful feeling of injustice during the bad.
If you can reload without trouble then by all means take the chance, though I suspect you would just keep increasing the level until you bust, but otherwise my advice is don't play to get lucky in the short term, learn to beat the game in the long term.

I say play the $1.50+.25 turbo's they are quite easy to place in and they are great for building up a small bankroll and you can make some decent money if you do 2-4 of them at once.

RE-LOAD,
If you can't afford to reload then you can drop down and play .01/.02.
