1st hand depends on the read u have. If he's loose I'd call too.
2nd hand is harsh. Only tip would be lay it down pf

1st hand bad luck, though I would limp pf at this point of the SnG with that stack
2nd one fold preflop (after that you are doomed, though I wouldn't bet the flop).

I would need a very good read on a player to fold the 1st hand on the flop.
People could make that push with:
A8 and A of diamonds (even just A of diamonds)
overpair + a diamond
lower trips
made flush
Worst case scenario of made flush you still have many outs.

My thoughts exactly. Even against a flush, I have 7 outs (+ runner, runner pair) for about 8 outs or 32%. That's 2.1 to 1 odds if I know he has a made flush and I was getting just under 2.1 to 1 pot odds.

first hand i say raise it a little more pf and you dont have to worry about even seeing the flop, 2nd hand either fold or raise when your in position like that.

I don't like the size of your raise in Hand #1. I'd go 350 or 400.

Hand 1: I'm with Irexes . . . don't raise this hand PF at this point. You've got way too many chips . . . and you're not going to win very much when it folds around. All you end up doing is building a big pot you can't get away from. On the flop, when I bet and get check raised you should hear something like this in your head:
"WOOP! WOOP! RED ALERT CAPTAIN!!! WE JUST GOT OUR ASS CHECK RAISED!!!"
A check raise is a very strong play, so when it happens to you, you need to back up and rethink. Ignore the implications of a check raise at your own peril.
In SNG's, I like to get my money in when I know I'm a huge favorite, and his check raise on a flush flop is enough for me to say to myself "Ah, shit . . . . I'm not sure where I am, I'll let it go". If you hadn't raised this PF your flop bet would be much smaller, and thus much easier to get away from. Instead, you've now pretty much trapped yourself into a no win situation (unless you suck out the FH). If this is a bluff, remember this: If you don't get bluffed out every now and then, you're calling way too much.
Hand 2: I can't believe Irexes you would fold this. I'm calling here every time. JTo is a nice little speculative hand . . . particularly because it always flops the nut straight. But middle pair in a crowded field is a trap hand.
Don't bet this flop, for the love of god. Everyone got to see the flop, so AJ, KJ, QJ, J5, 55, and any A are way ahead of you. On the turn, when you hit the second J and get flat called for a second time, you've got to know it's very likely you're up against a better hand.
At the river, your hand is medium strength . . . don't bet it (typical mistake so many players make). Check/call (likely I check/fold . . . for the same reason that I don't like guessing with so many chips when I know I can get them in better spots). When you do bet it and get raised, you compound the mistake by reraising. Ug. Please just call, and strongly consider folding (I'd fold like a cheap suit).Last edited by Jason75; 04-25-2006 at 02:36 PM.
Jason75: Ok, you check and the button bets 400. Now what?
Beavis68: You play poker.
Jason75: Darn, I was really hoping for canasta. Maybe Gin.
