    Default Value Bet the River?

I thought maybe he was chasing his flush draw and missed, which probably meant I wasn't going to get anything out of him anyways. The river was just such a scare card that I figured if I bet and he C/R'd me, I would have a very tough decision to make.

And yes...I definitely made some notes on this guy. lol.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed)

    Button ($11.55)
    SB ($9.55)
    BB ($9.60)
    UTG ($8.55)
    UTG+1 ($9.95)
    Hero ($11.20)
    MP2 ($8.10)
    MP3 ($9.60)
    CO ($7.05)

    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with , .
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.5, 5 folds, BB calls $0.40.

    Flop: ($1.05) , , (2 players)
BB bets $0.5, Hero raises to $1.5, BB calls $1.

    Turn: ($4.05) (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $2.

    River: ($8.05) (2 players)
    BB checks, Hero checks.

    Final Pot: $8.05

    Results in white below:

I'm not sure. It's very possible he calls a small bet here thinking you are playing AK or something. He knows his hand is questionable, and I doubt he is going to check raise you here.

I am probably firing again on the river, but I tend to get myself in a lot of trouble overplaying top Google Page Ranking or overprs.

EDIT: Ignore me. i missed th fact that a 2nd 10 hit. I am checking here assuming he may have been playing a 10

Your stacks are too small now to make it a value bet. If you are going to bet this for value, and then fold to a CR, you are goign to need some seriously big stacks to do this. I'd have bet around $3 as a pure value bet. Small enough to probably get called, Big enough for you to extract some good profit from it, and still small enough that you won 't paint your self in a corner by it. BUt he will. He'll only have $2 left in his stack if he calls this, and if he plays, he's probably CRing here (another reason not to bet, but this is .10NL, so you never know what they got), and thats goign to force to to play with 8-1 odds to call this. Given 10% bluffing, you just half to assume your hand will win >3% of the time vs a non-bluff to make this all-in call +EV (Therefore if we have this player pegged as smart, we can reduce the % chance of a bluff to 0 since he knows we will be forced to call his allin).

So after all that, If you bet here, you need to be willing to call, and you need to know what types of hands he has been showing down to know if you CAN call a river Raise.

But, if I was playing. I would definatly hesitate, look at my PT stats and see what type of VPIP and Showdown numbers he has to decide. But vs a new player, no, I don't value bet here.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

To me this is a situtation where you're only getting called if you're beat. I can't see someone calling on a double paired board with 2nd pair or worse.
I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but everying is in order just like it should be.

im defintly checking the river because if he was chasing a flush he wont call a bet and if he was playing top pair he is going to put you all in
If there wern't luck involed i guess id win everyone
