Default It is possible to donk KK

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter

    MP2 (t1340)
    MP3 (t1400)
    CO (t2100)
    Button (t1220)
    SB (t1380)
    BB (t1220)
    Hero (t1500)
    UTG+1 (t2480)
    MP1 (t2360)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with , .
    Hero raises to t100, 2 folds, MP2 calls t100, MP3 calls t100, 3 folds, BB calls t80.

Ok...normal 5bb raise with KK (this stage of the tournament I usually go about 5bb unless there are more limpers before me)...

    Flop: (t410) , , (4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t410, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, BB calls t410.

Like the flop...nice pot sized bet to discourage the FD...hmm. Somebody called???

    Turn: (t1230) (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t450, BB raises to t710, Hero calls t260.

Ok. Looking back, this is where I screwed up my hand. I'm thinking either A) should have pushed on the flop or B) should have checked this...Once I bet I felt I had more then enough odds to call his AI. I really felt that there was enough of a chance he didn't have a Q to make it worth my while...I only had to win (calling his AI) about once in 9 times to make it profitable...I also really thought that TP would have raised to see where he was at (let's face it, at that point there are really only 3 hands I could have been playing that made sense that had him beat and that was AA, KK or AQ). Since he didn't raise on the flop, I figured him for something like AT and he had put me on a hand that didn't have a Q...or at least there was enough of a chance that he was on something like that that I had the odds to call...

Should I have check folded the turn this early in the tournament? Should I have pushed on the flop???

    River: (t2650) (2 players)

    Final Pot: t2650

    Comments???

With SnGs a lot of players can't get away from the trap as standard play and this may be a slowplay except it smells more like a bluff/semi-bluff for a few reasons.
    1. It really early into the tourney and fishy Gus Hansen wanna-bes haven't been flushed out yet - so expect all kinds of weird plays!
    2. If BB was going to slowplay TP he should have check-raised on the flop - there are 2 to the str8 and the flush so unless he has a set or 2 pair, TP should be re-raised on the flop - of course a fish probably isn't all that aware and may have a serious case of FPS! If I had a Q with a weak kicker I would have lead out on the flop.
    3. The 2nd Q on the turn looks like you may be bluffing a TP and his 2nd pair suddenly looks like it may be boss so he now check-raises His re-raise to 710 adds up to 1220 so according to his pf stack size, he should now be all-in. You can't let the pot go for just another 260 - you're getting almost 9 to one - and if he is only 2nd best hand you got the most you could out of the KK.

I'm going to showdown with this hand.

    Well...

I would have pushed the flop for sure...

But considering you did'nt, Check fold the turn I think. You still have 1000 chips left and plenty of time.

Of course you can be up agaist AT or a FD, but I think its -EV to be allin here: you win, ok you win, but if you lost you are almost out...

Raise PF to the lesser amount of:

    1/6 your stack
    1/6 largest remaining stack.

In this case, you're UTG, so raise it to about 250. If this is a $3 game, you will get calls.

On the turn - and what a shitty turn card it is - just check the hand down the rest of the way. You've already put in 1/3 of your stack PF and the flop, so any bet here is pretty much going to commit you to the hand.

You should realize that at the cheap games, people will be calling you with hands like 88, JT, all kinds of crap.
