Some good commentary.

Girvek caught on to how I was counting outs. Bonch has some good input, the call because more interesting if the other player calls, but then your pot odds improve but you could be only drawing to a Q and it could get expsensive. Of course, either player could have KQ in this spot.

You've also got to be carefull how you take how he's plays this. All your REALLY learning is how he plays a short stack. If he wins this pot, he may very well play the same cards differently next time if he's got some chips.

True, though I was thinking more along the lines of I'm the person who doubled him up cause I missed a draw. I'd be looking for him to come back for more if he has me pegged as chasing or attached to overcards and try to catch him with something nasty

You're absolutely right though about not drawing conclusions from how he plays a short stack.

Most players aren't good enough to remember things like that.

You're not wrong.

And usually I limit my "what do they think my style of play is" thoughts to the seats to my immediate left and right as they are most likely to have formed an impression of my play.

But you're right imagining most players as shrewd observers of others calls is probably a mugs game

I think is an easy call to make. You are probably behind but there is a good chance you have 10 live outs (giving you correct odds) and at WORST you have 4.

Why did you check the flop? I woulda bet at least 100 into this. I know it's not much, but your draw isn't much and at least how they react will help you fold. Course if the small stack pushed you gotta call, but that's the way it goes sometimes. you check to him then he's auto pushing with anything.

If the other dude with the big stack check raised then I'd likely muck.

Cheers,

Mike

Easy call. 4:1 and apitance of your stack , And we can only assume all your outs are love, since AJ would havepushed preflp.

What do you put him on then, that he called for half his stack? I think AJ or KJ is a REAL possibility.
