    Default NL Ring Strategy

I've been tourney and SnG ONLY for as long as I can remember but in order to clear bonuses, ring games are the only way. I don't know the first thing about cash strategy because the few times I've sat at a table and played, I lost quite a bit, haha.

I know the saying about there being good tourney players that are just dead money in cash, and vice verca. But I want to be in good both and the only reason I think I suck at ring right now, is I don't what to be doing differently from how I normally play.

Do I need to tighten up my starting requirements? Do I need to go completely opposite of the table?

I'm just looking for some advice and strategy. Thanks!

Start playing at a low level, maybe .10/.25 NL and multi table whilst clearing bonuses.

Whenever you get AA/KK/QQ raise hard PF and bet hard til you know your beaten (e.g 789 of hearts on board in 3 way pot and you have 2 black aces, AK7 on board and you have QQ).

When you get AK/AQ raise and play for top pair if you hit it bet hard if you don't fold.

When you get dealt any pocket pair limp in and play for sets.

You can play other hands like suited connectors if you limp in multiway pots but I'm not sure it's worth it initially.

You can raise a wide variety of hands in unraised pots from cutoff/button as a blind steal but dont get carried away betting if someone calls and you miss the flop.

This will win you money at this level.

I'm sure others could give better advice but thats what I would say.

Also if a site offers the facility try and play tables with Players per flop at 40%. Your % flops seen should be around 20% (unless in future you improve your cash game and want to be loose aggresive)

go get supersystem, read the nl holdem section then sit down and play shorthanded nl holdem. Play tight at first untill you get the feel of how the players are at that level and then start playing really fast and loose, take down every small pot you think you can win. the key is you want ppl to play back at you, cause when you hit your hand and they play back at you, your all getting your chips in the middle for a good time. And its not a tournament so if you loose all your chips you can still buy back in.. For me the greatest comment i ever got at a poker table was,"hey dope do you ever stop raising?"
    which i replied "no".

Thanks a lot guys! The reason I ask is because I just signed up for the $50 on Titan through PSO...I plan on building that up through SnG's, SnG's, and more SnG's but in order to ever withdraw any of it...I'm going to have to play the rake the reqs. I want to make sure I have enough money though so I don't go broke easily and my hard work is for nothing.

i played loose passive prflop, and tight agressive on flop. last 2 months. I had maybe 2-3 losing sessions out of 30-40 sessions. 6 max table.

id call with J7s utg, etc...
    then flops i play careful.

then i switched strategy and lost bunch of $.

e:alos i should note, my sessions ar long as hell, so if i go -100bb, over the next 400-800 hands i could get back up into +
I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

Hmm.. i would also like to add, when u get AJ raise.. Also when ur playing AK AQ AJ, and u miss the flop.. do a continuation bet on the flop if its you and another guy to the hand, or if its 3 way, and u have position on the first guy, who checks it to you. If ur continuation bet is called, then check-fold if ur hand doesnt improve.

Like Wota said, raise hard pf with AA KK QQ when ur first to open(10xBB), and also re-raise preflop with those hands - 4x the initial raisers raise if ur not first to open.

Hands like KQ KJ QJ and A10, limp in and play for top pair only. Dont play QJ or A10 from UTG or UTG+1. Fold these hands pf vs a raise.

Only bet with TP or better when its 4+ players to the flop.

Bet with middle pair only if its 4 to the flop or less, and no one raised pf. And when u bet with middle pair, do a half potsize bet. If called by anyone, then check-fold.

Play AXs from MP or later, and only if theres at least 1 limper.

    Play 67s+ from CO/Button.
