I'd raise that PF...I'd also bet about 3/4 pot on the flop...I probably would have been AI on the turn...
As far as how you played it, I think I would have to fold on the river...Too many draws hit. Since he was blinded into the hand, he could have just about anything. Since he called your Pot sized bet on the turn, he could have any number of draws...I may be playing scared, but since you didn't raise PF and you didn't bet the flop, you have no way to put him on a hand...Trons

Raise PF.
I bet ~350 on the flop.
If he calls, you can assume he is either drawing to the flush or has a queen.

Talk about Fancy Play Syndrome (FPS). Of course you posted this because you know you screwed it up.
I see a couple ways of playing this hand:
1. Raise a standard amount to build the pot and get your opponent to define their hand. You're looking for a call here, because 99 is huge 3 handed.
2. Raise all in because you have a fairly low M. This move most likely gets the pot, and is likely only called by a hand that dominates you or is a coinflip. Of course, 22-88 and the occasional dominated Ace (A2-A9) may also call, so that helps offset some of the times you're dominated.
3. Slow play this by checking and try to induce a bluff on the flop.
You did #3. Your opponent doesn't bite . . . . either he's slow playing a bigger hand than yours, or he's surrendering the pot.
Now it's the turn. There's a bunch of draws now on the board, and the overcard. FOR GOD'S SAKE, BET SOMETHING HERE.
I think slow playing the turn with anything less than a K-high flush is one of the biggest mistakes most poker players make. Think about it this way: Many of the calls you're going to get are going to be from players drawing against the odds. This is where you make your money, when you induce mistakes.
On the river, the hand is done. You're not going to get any money out of busted draws - you've helped them to not make the mistake of calling your bet on the turn by not making one with the best hand. You're only going to get a call from a hand that has you beat now.
Of course, on the river, a pair of nines against this board is medium strength at best, and we all know not to bet medium stength hands on the river, don't we boys and girls.
