This hand has really been bothering me. At the time I wasnt paying full attention to the hand as my Girlfriend was in the room bitching at me (as girlfriends usually do). Because of this I wasnt paying as much attention to my opponent as I normally do. I cant help thinking that I should have folded to the re-raise on the flop.

You can't fold this, why weren't you more aggressive here?
I am not good enough to get away from this hand, and at NL25 there is no way I fold this. I would have been all in on the flop and except to see AK or a flush draw alot more often than set over set.

u played this way too passively on the flop.
once UTG bets 1 dollar, im raising it to 4-5 dollars.. if the other guy in LP still re-raises, then i re-raise his raise by x3.. with that flush draw and straight draw on the board, u want to take the pot down without giving any extra cards, if possible u want to try to get all ur money in right here on the flop before any danger cards come out. If anyone has AK, AA, a lower set, or 2 pair, you want to try to get all their money in on the flop while they still think their hand is hot, before any scare cards like a diamond or some other card to complete the straight comes out. Because if u play this passively on the flop and just call, and a diamond falls on the turn, it is likely that he will put u on a flush draw because of ur flop call..with that being said, u will no longer be able to extract more money out of him on the turn or river.. ur opponent will stop betting into you and he will stop calling raises. Furthermore if u slow play this, and 2 diamonds pop out on the turn + river.. and ur opponent has no diamond.. then he will stop betting and wont call any river bet

Set over set happens once every blue moon . . . . but since it does occur, if you play enough poker it will happen to you.
This same scenario happened to me in a tournament a long time ago and I still haven't forgotten it. But I played it much more aggressive than you.
Middle of a tourney. I had 99 on the button, it folded around to me. I raised it up, BB reraised, I made a big reraise, BB just calls (I put him on AK). Same flop as you had, he checks, I figure he's trying to check raise me all in with top pair so I go all in, he calls. KKK beats 999.
Shit happens. Changing your game to avoid this extremely occasional beat will do more harm than good.

on flop, he bets 1 and you raise to 2, id prolly raise to $3.50
dude, when UTG reraises you on the flop, go all in. this is a great oppretunity to get all your money in with the best hand.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

Because of my habit of slowplaying I end up getting outdrawn often. I guess its a case of me growing a set of balls more than anything else.

Nothing you could do about the result, but you definitely needed to be all in on that flop. You don't want to give AK or KQ the chance to finish the hand without doubling you up.
Set over set isn't going to happen often enough to worry about it ever happening. The only time you should've even thought of folding was preflop.

Yup, if you don't get stacked here, there is something wrong with you.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
