so it's heads up in a 6 seater tournament, the blinds are 75-150 and my opponent is playing really loosely and aggressively. my stack is about 2k chips shorter than his at about 3.5 and 5.5 thousand chips. what should my starting requirements look like? he only lets me see a cheap flop once in a great while and he'll almost always call my preflop raises unless he has absolute trash, so it's really hard to peg him on a hand.
basically just wondering what the general rule is as far as raising/limping/folding pre-flop in these kind of conditions. i had been raising with my above average and good hands but when i completely miss the flop (about, what.. 70% of the time?) my feeler bets are getting re-raised so i really have no clue where i stand in the hand. anyways, i feel like i'm rambling now.. this is mostly a post wondering what the starting requirements are like in this situation..

Your starting requirement when first to act is to have two cards, if they bear any relation to each other whatsoever it's a bonus.

dont make "feeler bets" on flop. either bet pot or chek. a good player like this guy knows when your betting a miss.
You;; have to do the work preflop. from the sb go all in with Ax Kx Qx and T9o+ and any pp. after you do this three or 4 times, he will catch on. now he will lower his all in calling requierments.
now you must tighten up and go all in w/ stronger hands. mean while limp from the sb (and if he raises call). when you hit top pair your getting paid off. also with middle pair youll prolly be ahead.
forget about busting. if your gunna play tight agaisnt him he will smoke you. try to bust. he bets preflop, you raise. he bets flop you raise.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

But if he's constantly going to get reraised whenever he raises, isn't he better off being a bit more selective and only raising hands he is prepared to move all in with?
Not saying premium hands, if your opponent is reraising every hand you may be happy to go all in with A2, QJ.

It's late here.

Wota's right. When the "momentum" is with the other guy HU, you gotta be more selective. If he's smart/dumb enough to release crappy holdings PF, then you can raise PF to try and take some blinds or have him call and see some flops. If he's raising Everything, well then any decently coordinated hands are worth reraising. You gotta figure out what he's goign to give you, and then take it as much as you can. This is all assuming the blinds are small enough that you have lots of wiggle room. If not, then any hand you think is playable, when he raises, Just push and hope he folds, or hope you win. HU vs a Maniac requires a lot of luck.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
