What are you talking about??? he called because he picked up a flush draw. They both got scared that the other was slowplaying something so they didn't bluff.

I don't think tillerman had any intention of bluffing the river. With their stacks he has implied odds to call with his draw as long as he doesn't feel the other player is slowplaying something real good.

He's hoping he has an 8 or a Q or a bare Jack. So if he makes the flush his opponent might call a big bet.

    Here's my take:

He's raising UTG to try and pick up the blinds, then gets reraised by a player he obviously thinks is making a play. He flat calls, likely trying to represent AK, AQ, KK-TT to try and take the pot away on the flop or later street.

His opponent bets into him on a paired flop with a spade and straight draw (something I would do if I had a J here). He calls, probably hoping a spade or straight card (K, 8) hits on the turn that he can bluff at. Of course, he now picks up an actual hand, and seems to change strategy and flat call the turn to hit his flush.

His river play is bizarre. It's checked to him, he's been representing a full house or better the whole way (QQ or JJ?), he can't possibly think his hand can win in a showdown. This is exactly where you should bet about 1/3-1/2 the pot, or do a post oak bluff (bet a small "payoff" amount). But he just checks it down? After his opponent keeps firing away like that even when the flush or straight doesn't come? Maybe he thought his opponent was check raising him on the river because of the comment, but I'd certainly have put a bet in there to find out.
