Default Was this call too risky?

I know its never a good idea to chase straights with a Pair on the board. But I called the small turn bet (and small raise) and hit. For some reason I felt deg was slowplaying a 7.... which is why I reraised small hoping he would go over top.... but then his all in bet worried me.... maybe he had a full house... I call none the less after thinking about it for 30 secs.

was this a easy call? or was I justifed in being worried?

the minimum bet check raise on the turn means that this guy has a very strong hand, on this board that means atleast trips. It would seem that he's betting his hand for value and is not worried about being outdrawn, which means either a fullhouse or hes not very clever. it would probably be best not raise the river, but once you're reraised you have to call, unless you have a read on the player that tells you he wouldn't put in a reraise without the FH. The straight is only possible with 64 or 69, its quite possible that he wouldn't spot it.

But your right, as a general rule of thumb its probably best not to chase flush or str8 draws on a pair board, as you might be drawing dead already
I love him who is ashamed when the dice fall in his favour and who then asks: Am I then a cheat? for he wants to perish.

Not true, it all depends on odds and the what you think the pther players are. There are no absolute rules in poker, except that one :P.

Fold PF, 69o is a little weak even with 5-1 odds, but given the odds, an arguement can be made to call this. I prefer folding here.

Bet 2/3 pot on the flop, likely this missed everybody and a bet here will take it down, but checking is ok.

Turn, you check, other guy min bets, Make this .50 to go right now. It's a bluff bet, and CR'ing here will take this down right now.

River, WEAK. What were you hoping for here? A call or a push? So what if the guy has a seven, you have a straight. Next time, make a pot sized bet here, not that pansy-assed min raise. If you are going to do a value bet, get soome value from it. And Lose the FPS.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

I totally agree that my river re-raise bet was very weak. A bigger re-raise value bet would have made the call alot easier. Not totally convinced betting .5 on the turn is a great play, but thanks for all your input

obviously you can only beat a bluff here and should fold.
