No reads on my opponents here as this was only my 5th or 6th hand at the table. That being said, bigger bet on the turn, perhaps? Was my call on the river ok? I figure with almost 5 to 1 on my money it was. Should I have just checked instead of betting though?

The idiot called to an inside str8 with only 2:1 odds on the flop and 3:1 on the turn and got rewarded for it! Drives you crazy doesn't it? Oh well, if they didn't get lucky sometimes they might stop playing like idiots

So no then? After the hand I thought that maybe a bigger bet on the turn might have worked but I was afraid of a stronger 10 and was looking to keep the pot small.

I might fold PF
asides from that bet more on turn.

I dont mind limping with these hands from almost any position at these levels. 95% of the time you will be able to see a cheap flop with several callers and it's pretty easy to get away from when you dont catch a piece of the flop.

but you are throwing money away. Yes you might get a lucky flop, but that is what we are trying to avoid here. We want to depend on skill, not luck.

If I have a bunch of limpers at my table, I will start raising it big from late position if I have any kind of hand at all, just to create some dead money in the pot or maybe win it right there.Nimvin

But when I run into those types of players, I'll adjust my starting hand requirements accordingly. It's pretty much like the discussion we had here. Since I posted that thread, I've tried this style of play and it seems to be pretty effective.

Okay, read the thread all the way through. I had only seen the first half of it. I can understand the arguments for limpingin hands and pushing all the edges you have available. I also understand 'changing gears' or shifting your strategy to what is most profitable. Maybe that is my issue. I just don't like limping in any position other than late after a couple of others have limped in, say, 3 or more limpers.

fold pf..
theres a reason why u only play these hands in LP.. cuz in those situations where u flop top pair with this hand, u will have a weak kicker with people left to act behind you.. and if ur potsize bets are called on the flop by someone left to act behind you, then u wont know whether the other guy has TP with higher kicker like Q10, K10.. or is on a draw..
